Later Price Change?

What do you think about the price for the Wii? Will it go down or up after the holiday season? Could you stand to wait that long?

Re: Later Price Change?

Yes, it will drop. But not for A good while I'd immagine. Maybe half a year or so it'd go to 220-200. But I think it'll stay here for a while.

Re: Later Price Change?

the wii is surely one of the cheapest consoles ever at launch, im almost amazed by how cheap it, especially compared to the PS3 and 360. i would have thought all of that motion sensor technology would cost a lot to produce. i mean nintendo are either making a much bigger loss on the console than usual or its just pretty cheap to produce.
on another note: shouldnt this topic be in general gaming?

Re: Later Price Change?

It will never go up. Like Gibdo said it will probably be at least a year before it drops.

Re: Later Price Change?

The only prices that will go up are the ebay auctions. I hate those idiots who are getting more than one Wii on launch just so they can sell it online for a profit. Makes me want to...strangle them or something.

Re: Later Price Change?

Usually price drops happen about a year after the release of the console (half of year if we're lucky). So I'd imagine it'd be no different for the Wii. I don't think I've never heard of a console price point going up somehow after its release.

I was going to that with the PS3.

. . . Don't strangle me!

It's obvious you don't know about money, ecomany, and business. This is America. Americans have the right to make profits in a legal way. If you don't like that, move to China or get a time manchine and stay over at Soviet Russia.

It will be about a year until the prices goes down. It would be a bit sudden if Nintendo sells the Wii at $250 then drop $200 in less than a month. I don't see that coming.

I'm afraid you're out of luck, eBay and Sony have banned the resale of any PS3 consoles through eBay. I think it's a bit early to be talking about price drops but we'll probably see them in winter 2007. Even though the Wii is cheap, I feel it's a tad overpriced but I'm not complaning seeing as how I could be paying much more.

Really? I was just one the site about a few days ago looking a people selling them. That must really be bad news for people somehow managed to pre-order more then one PS3 to sell them. Lucky for me, I never bought one (I knew scammers would ruin it somehow).

Anyways, I see the price as too high. Perhaps if it were to come with the classic controller, I wouldn't mind. Unfortunately, they don't come with it.

$250 seems a bit much. A minimum $50 price drop is in order.

Last time I checked, being selfish was legal. Doesn't make it right. I find it unfair for people to take advantage of others in that way.

It's hard enough to get one's hands on a Wii. Nice people will only buy what they need and let other people share the experience.

Re: Later Price Change?

Speaking for the austrlain market, it will drop about a month before the PS3 is finally released here after the delays. So will the 360. Microsoft and Sony used a similar stratigey when the cube was dealyed in the austarlian market by a few months.

I'm not sure, I remember reading about it but I can't seem to find a source, maybe it was just a rumor. I'm looking for a good reliable source to confirm it right now.

Edit:

heres a link, it seems that was the situation but Ebay has now revised their policy and you have to meet some sort of criteria to sell one of those suckers online.
