Do You Play Warhammer?

Does anybody here play warhammer, warhammer 40k, or lord of the rings warhammer?
Im just curious because I play it and it's an awesome game.

um what teh hell??? why did you move it warhammer is a tabletop wargame that is played with models non on the PC/console!

There are Warhammer 40k videogames.

Its general gaming - nowhere in that title does it say it has to be a video game/computer game. If its generally a game, it can go here.

I play Warhammer 40k for the computer, but my brother plays the original one for Table.

I used to play Warhammer 40,000. I first collected Tyranids, then I sold them and bought a Space Marine army with the money. I never got to play any battles, but I was an awesome painter. I could get the pupils on the eyes of the Space Marines without helmets, I never went out of the areas (ie: eye colour paint outside of the eyes), but I lost interest and sold all my 'Marines. I'm thinking of collecting Space Marines again though...

I have warhammer 40k i colect Tirenids and ultra mariens i just like painting and makeing them i'm not that sure how to achually play the game, although i do know i little bit about it.

I got 40k for table top and im a pretty good painter. But ya I have the space marines and tyranids battle for maccrage set and im collecting space marines right now and my army is pretty good especially with techmarine Adriconis and his servitors. But the rules are really complicated but I understand them...

I find it to be a rather expensive past time that few people could afford and even fewer can play together. By the looks of this thread so far, most people just like to paint/collect the figurines

Yes you are pretty much right. The figurines are extremely expensive im sorry to say. And yes most people perfer to collect and paint rather than play. But all in all I find it's a fun game but with strict and complecated rules and it was made mainly for teenagers and up.

Could I know what is Warhammer and all that stuff please ?

Warhammer is a game that originated in england about 30 years ago and is still going strong. Warhammer is not the name of the store but Games workshop is the name of the store. You buy warhammer, warhammer 40k and lord of the rings warhammer in gamesworkshop. Warhammer is medevil. Warhammer 40K is in the 41st century. Lord of the rings warhammer is obviously lord of the rings. All 3 are tabletop stratagy games with models and complecated rules. You buy the models from warhammer, 40k, or lord of the rings. You paint the models and play games with them. You can only battle with the same selction you have. eg. you can't battle 40k with lord of the rings. That pretty much covers it.

And it's a tabletop game ? Damn .....

If you mean a video game then I think so. Every 1 says there are warhammer videogames so i guess there are. I havn't actually seen 1 though.

i love Warhammer. I play Warhammer fantasy with friend of mine and we LOVE it. i have an orc army and i am starting a hordes of chaos army. the only bad thing is thatt they cost A LOT! but its all worth it when i finish painting my battalion of chaos warriors and destroy my friend's elf army. oh by the way, here is a link to games workshop if anyone is interested!

I collect and fight Necrons, Done an Ace job on painting them Search the other section in Entertainment for pics of them, but can't really fight many people since the Warhammer club in my city involves you being over 18. (Alcohol issue)

Theres only like a very small handfull of actual people on this site that actually collect and Battle them for real. Probably around 4-5.

Basically Buy>Build/Paint>Collect/fight
The basic model is about 1-2 inches High.

Classic is basically medieval, With such races as Orcs, Humans, Undead and blahdiblah, Kinda like Warcraft but better.
40k-Futuristic version, set in the year 40,000
LotR-LotR version of the game

The game involves a set number of rules, moves and points per army, When all the army has been eliminated or the set number of moves is up the game is then calculated to find the victor. A lot of stategy is involved and there are a hell of a lot of rules to calculate each turn based on the type of attack and move that was made.

Competitions and events are held and often hosted at GW stores but there are regional groups that hold some as well.

If you read the starting post you would know that it didn't mention the PC game and if the Mods knew, Warhammer and LotR isn't in the PC game.
So in conclusion this is a Tabletop not on the PC. So it shouldn't be here. Should be back in Entertainment where it originally was.

MY opinion si that Warhammer is a rip-off, it took my a while to realise this but it's true, £8 for 1 metal miniature! W00T!!!! A small army's gonna cost you way over £100 and £30 for a plastic tank the size of a book.......
plus you need paints,etc.

D&D minis...much better much cheaper, look better, more variety, more fun to play......

Alot of people agree that it costs more than it's worth but still it's a fun game and alot of people play.

This is where your slightly wrong. There are video games for warhammer or so Ive heard. It would fit into either catogory but it dosn't really matter, well to me anyway. But thats not the topic of the post...
