Donkey Kong

I wish that Nintendo would start concentrating on making 'true' Donkey Kong platformers again. You know, like the Donkey Kong Country days. Not saying that what Nintendo is currently doing to the franchise is bad. The Donkey Konga games are pretty fun, and Jungle Beat as well. King of Swing is pretty cool, too.

But, I mean, there should at least be more platformers... I know that Rare leaving Nintendo for Microsoft didn't help much, but I'm pretty sure that there could be more original platformers... I mean, Donkey Kong should at least be of some significance... Without Donkey Kong, there would be no Mario...

Anyone else share these views? And, if you have any news about a new Donkey Kong platformer, that would be great.

Seconded. Nintendo needs to start making real DK games again, instead of just using him to make up the numbers in the Mario *Insert non-platforming genre here* games. DK64 is actually the only one I remember playing, but I'd still like to see some new ones.

I have DK 64, greatest game there ever was in the DK series. If they put Diddy in SSBB, he better have the peanut popguns and barrel jetpack!
I hope Nintendo has a game like DK64 again...
