Sadness (yes, the games name) MUST SEE
http://wii.ign.com/articles/721/721396p1.html
I don't know about you, but this games seems incredible. It's incredibly lifelike, very interactive, and apparently, a horror game. The black and white really adds to the "horror" atmosphere and it looks to be a promising game. Unfortunetaly, this game won't come out until Q4 of next year. What a drag, but this seems to be worth it. Who wouldn't want to play this game? I for one am going to play this as soon as it comes out (thank it's an almost guarantee I'll get the Wii by then ). So, what do you people think? |

I think the game concept is awesome. But, I think that the black and white atmosphere will get old. Eventually, I think that I will come to dread the drearyness. One constant theme throughout a game is never a good idea. Some time or another, you will feel smothered.

Re: Sadness (yes, the games name) MUST SEE
Looks like they used a similar look to what we've seen with Need for Speed to get a good looking in game character. Welcome to the next generation, in that respect. I'm interested to see how the visuals end up panning out. You can't really tell from a little trailer at this point. See the MGS4 TGS trailer VS the MGS4 TGS trailer. The first was shorter, and also more polished.
The black and white is a very awesome concept though. The story could be compelling as heck, and it's also something fresh and new, either way. It's almost movie like, when you combine it with the realistic models. The only thing that really worries me though from watching the trailer is the gameplay. It seems almost (...Gah. I can't think of the game...The one with the silver haired chick on the DS who...carries a DS on a island...Myst-like) in nature, which is a bit of a turn off from the concept for me. There are so many smaller titles like this to follow. It's going to be hard. Edit: Heh. Reading Earth's comments...This game would be hell to play on many LCDs.

Re: Sadness (yes, the games name) MUST SEE
Ah, Sadness has made quite an impression! I would love to play it. The black-and-white Victorian atmosphere is appealing, as are the images currently posted, and I like the immersive atmosphere described in the article. Not being totally familiar with the realm of video games, I must say that is one of the most novel concepts I've yet come across.
Unfortunately, Sadness will probably be rated M. Which mean I won't be able to play it. Oh well... :/ |

i doubt that it will be black and white the whole geme. i think that was just for atmosphere in the trailer. though it would be cool at parts. very intriguing. ill never own it. ever.

Re: Sadness (yes, the games name) MUST SEE
I remember seeing this trailer not too long (I believe it was around E3).
The game doesn't appeal to me that much. Would I have to control every movement and action of a woman's life? Holding up umbrella’s in the rain, protecting the character from rats by waving a torch around, pushing things... Now, this is just the trailer though. I have different opinions about this game. It could be very unique (the fact that it's a psychological horror game says something), or just a flop; but as of now, I'm not liking it that much. I haven't given the game much time, so I'll wait for more in-game footage.

Re: Sadness (yes, the games name) MUST SEE
Anyone else feel like this is Wii's version of Eternal Darkness?
The black and white is an interesting concept, but it could get old after the first couple hours, seeing the same colors over and over. Hopefully they'll make the lighting, animation, and detail interesting enough to hold our attention, or even make all kinds of different grey-tones. It does sound like a cool game, though, and that official art of the dog-beast is awesome. |
