Re: So, this is pretty cool.

Damn you sea, you beat me to it! lol

Well basically yeah im intrigued. I dont think Nintendo would go to the effort of just making this so that we would look at more games.

ALOT of speculation and general opinion about the "de-coding" of the artical is that the Wii is due October 2nd. One popular theory is that They state in the article "Oh look we ran out of space" If you count all the words and numbers in the article it comes to 290 and the 290th day of the year is October 2nd.

Now this and all the other theories are just that...Theories... But i do believe thier is a hiddne release date in there.

Also a rumour flying around that it will launch straight after the Tokyo show in Setpember.

Ideas People?

Wii launch probably=Nov 6

I posted this in future Zelda. Here I repost for your viewing pleasure:

I too believe the launch will be Nov. 6, but for different reasons

Looking at the list of release dates and breaking them down into digit codes (Nov 6= 11-6)
I find that the first 4 dates add up to 19, 26, 33, and 40, respectively. The fifth date given is a repeat of the previous (10-30, adds to 40) so that's a signal to stop the pattern. Here's what we have:

10-9 (19)
10-16 (26)
10-23 (33)
10-30 (40)

The difference between the sumed dates in each case is seven. 19+7=26, 26+7=33, 33+7=40

So add another 7. What's seven days after 10-30? Nov. 6.

Well, if that's not the code it's a mighty strange conincidence.

Now for the second part of the code, after the double-date listing:

10-30 (40)
11-6 (17)
11-13 (23)
12-4 (16)
And we end here because again the dates are double-listed.

The difference between 40 and 17 is 23. 17 and 23's difference is 7. 23 and 16's difference is 7. 23+7+7=37. The 37th of our beginning month, october is really six days into the next month since October has 31 days. The sixth of November

Ok, that last part was a stretch, I'll admit.

Re: So, this is pretty cool.

October would be great, my birthday is the 12th, though I doubt I ever will get the Wii until they fix the battery problem. Besides, I think waiting after launch is much wiser.

So, this is pretty cool.

Here's the press release:

Quote:
Oct. 9: Clubhouse Games
Oct. 16: Nintendogs (Dalmatian)
Oct. 23: Magical Starsign
Oct. 30: Pokémon Ranger
Oct. 30: Children of Mana
Nov. 6: Elite Beat Agents
Nov. 13: Yoshi's Island 2
Dec. 4: Custom Robo Arena
Dec. 4: Kirby Squeak Squad
My first theory: November/October 7th.
Explanation:
Oct. 9 + 7 days = Oct. 16
Oct. 16 + 7 days = Oct. 23
Oct. 23 + 7 days = Oct. 30
Oct. 30 + 7 days = Nov. 6
Nov. 6 + 7 days = Nov. 13

Get it?

My second theory: November 20th.
Explanation: If you follow the plus 7 pattern, you end up with Nov. 20. IGN said that a game is being released on every Monday except for Oct. 2, Nov. 20, and Nov. 27. I think Nov. 20 is the launch date.

November 13th

I personally think it's not that difficult.

Quote:
You might want to pore over it for a few hours before staying up all night to debate phraseology and comma placement with your friends online. Or maybe it's all just a scam to get you to read the other games we have launching this fall. One of the two.
This seems to suggest that you actually have to "read the other games" to make a conclusion.

You can easily switch it up to read as follows:

Nintendo likes to go for simplicity. Why would they offer the less complicated alternative as the "scam"? Of course, I could just be falling for that "scam", but whatever.

As series go, FINAL FANTASY is to video games what James Bond is to movies.
Consider that the words "Legend of Zelda" can replace "FINAL FANTASY" in this statement.

Quote:
Every week or so, another huge DS title hits, from the Touch Generations title Clubhouse Games to fan favorites like Elite Beat Agents and Yoshi's Island 2.
FINAL FANTASY is a fan favorite, and it is paired with Elite Beat Agents. Twilight Princess also promises to be a "fan favorite", and it will probably be paired with the other DS "fan favorite", Yoshi's Island. The use of the phrase "One of the two" seems to support that Twilight Princess will be "one of the two" big games on the date of its release.

Oct. 30: Pokémon Ranger
Oct. 30: Children of Mana
Nov. 6: Elite Beat Agents
(Nov. 6: FINAL FANTASY V)
Nov. 13: Yoshi's Island 2
(Nov. 13: Twilight Princess)
Dec. 4: Custom Robo Arena
Dec. 4: Kirby Squeak Squad

Nov. 13th also coincidentally falls during the week of the PS3 release, which is November 17th.

But, whatever.

Where did you find that information?

If Sony are to release November 17th, then they had better start production, and that still doesn't look likely until November itself.

They have. Click. And either Gamespot or 1up had a follow up news story that confirmed the story.

Re: So, this is pretty cool.

Take a look at Matt's blog, and read the comments.

A very interesting read. I learned factors about launch strategy that I've never heard of before. General consensus is October 9th, which is way better than November.

Yeah...My only problem with the October release date is all the small games coming out that month would completely get squashed and overlooked. Let's run through the scenario. The Wii release is announced for the 9th in September. People start saving up money for a Wii. First game to be over looked: A truly stunning one with an incredibly small fan base due to bad marketing and a limited US run for the original: Valkyrie Profile: Silmeria, which is released September 26th. Baten Kaitos Origins is a death sentance anyways, (because it's crap) but that also has the 25th release date. Uup uuup uup. Wait. What's this I see? One of the DS's most anticipated RPGs? Final Fantasy III get's released on the third. That title is pretty safe. So safe that it once again pulls sales from the smaller games. Super Paper Mario gets released on the 9th. Woop. Look at that. Right with the Wii. Great sales there. It won't fail, but the sales definately won't be as good. What's next? Rogue Galaxy. It rivals Okami for having the best cel-shading ever in a game, and also has absolutely NO LOADING. But it's a bit of a unknown on the market. It isn't Final Fantasy. Why buy an RPG this month when THREE Final Fantasy RPGs are coming out within a month's time. Which brings me to my next point: Final Fantasy XII. It's going to suck up all the sales in the month, rivaling the Wii. Together, no little title or even medium title is safe. Speaking of a medium title, Tales of the Abyss, Namco's Tales RPG made by the creators of Symphonia is hitting the PS2. It supposedly is the best in the series yet! Too bad Tales of Legendia absolutely FAILED last Spring. If Abyss doesn't do well, which unlike Legendia, it deserves to, the US might be hard pressed to EVER get a Tales title again. Yeah. Final Fantasy XII eats TotA for breakfast. Finally, competiting directly with the company's big cheese game itself is Children of Mana, getting released side by side to Final Fantasy XII. Squish. It's a different market, but every one still has Wii fever and are rampaging through Final Fantasy XII. Like TotA, Children of Mana deserves to do well, but unfortunately, it most likely will only get picked up by those with large wallets, poorer people who can't afford a Wii, and don't have a PS2 for XII. Even early November titles will suffer a similar fate. Now you have dwindling Wii intrest, new games, AND the PS3 launch. There you go. It's going to be a hard month for developers this October.
