Did you like Pokemon when you were younger?

ok well to this is a theard about (groan) pokemon i made this to ask did you use to like pokemon in your younger days if so why do you hate it now or if you still like it *wow thats weird no offence* why do you still like it it might not be a very cool theard but you know some people still like it * I dont know any though* also do you think that people who like pokemon should be punished

I hate Pokemon. I liked it. Now I hate it.

I used to love pokemon when they first came out in 1999. The games were the best, then the TV series, then the cards. Everyone were talking about pokemon. Couldn't get enough of it.

Now I don't mind pokemon but I don't like it as much as I used to. The only thing I like about pokemon is the pokemon games on the handheld consoles.

I loved those little guys... i had the cards and tons of videos... and of coarse i had the games... and to be truthfully honest the original two games aren't that bad...

I loved pokemon when it first came out. I was obsesed with it... Anyway, I'm not a pokemon fanatic like i use to be, but I still like the games a bit.

Well, in the good old days, I liked the Pokemon television show. However, I found out that the cartoon was terrible, there was no point in collecting the cards, and so on.

I still like the games. There's nothing weird with liking the games because they are actually good (Nintendo can do a bit to spice up the games, though. The formula is starting to grow old.) Saying that liking the games is weird is the same as saying how liking Mario or tWW is weird.

So, yeah, the show, the cards, the merchandise, is pointless, but the games are still good.

Who didnt use to like pokemon at some point?

I used to love pokemon. I still play the GB games every once in a while, but other than that I don't care for pokemon anymore.

When I was younger I was a fan (I watched the anime, played the games, battled with one friend, became a member on a Pokemon Forum and that's it. I never tried to "Catch them all", all I wanted in the games was to "Collect only the best/rare"). When more and more games/pokemon/franchises started coming out, I thought the series was getting stale and boring, so I'd only rent the "third games" (like Yellow, Crystal, Sapphire, etc..) and that was enough satisfaction for my gaming. I wasn't into the 3D battles, but with the upcoming DS and Wii games, finally they are making things the way I wanted them many years ago. I just may get back into it.

I liked Pokemon in my younger days and still do even today (Though I can pass on the TV Show and Cards). Actually, I'm playing through Sapphire Version at the moment. Though when I was younger, I was obsessed with anything Pokemon. From the TV Shows to the cards, I had to Get 'em all (Bad pun intended). As of now, I still enjoy the games, though I pretty much despise the show and the card game.

Pokemon is flat out fun. There's no way you can deny that. The games are still addicting to the point of nausea. I feel like a kid (in a good way) when I see really old episodes of the show, like from the begining. I still have all my cards, and get 'em out every once and a while. I still play with my pokemon stuff because it is fun and it reminds me of good times I had as a kid. Frankly, if you think you're too cool to do stuff that makes you feel like a kid, your not very secure or mature. Get over yourselves and just have some fun with it.

Pokemon in its Prime was Great and I will always love it to the era of Gold and Silver. After that the games and everything declined signifacantly.

As stated everything up to the Gold and Silver Era was great...and always will be!

Chikorita ftw, love that thing. Anyways, i enjoy pokemon, especially the gameboy games. im currently doing my second journey in Pokemon Emerald.

If I could change a few things about the franchise, it would be this:

1. Less pokemon. It just seems to me that Nintendo is trying to make at least one pokemon with every single type combination. There are 17 different types of pokemon, and each pokemon could have two types to it. Now if I did my math right, that would mean 289 pokemon would have every type combination (136 Grass/Bug + 136 Bug/Grass + 17 original solitary types).

2. Make the anime a little more serious (remember, this is how I would run things). Meaning, have Team Rocket/Magma/Aqua be even more of a threat than they are right now. Though they are there for the comedy, get rid of Jessey and James (if it wasn't for them, Pikachu wouldn't be as strong as he is now...but I find that as "cheap training"). Ok, maybe not get rid of them entirely, but don't show them every freakin' eppisode...once a week would be ok. Have the bad guys win sometimes, and later on, have the good guys win (don't let everything resolve in 1-2 eppisodes).

3. Make the anime universe a little bit smarter. If you've played the games, you've noticed that more is known/been reveiled about the pokemon world than the anime.

4. There was one eppisode where the pokemon talked to eachother (in subtitles). I honestly think there could be more comedy/character depth if we knew what they were saying all of the time. Lucky for us there will be an upcoming special eppisode where all the pokemon talk to eachother. More info here: http://serebii.net/archive/July-2006.shtml (scroll down to July 13th 2006). I honestly think this could have also been done when Ash was turned into a pikachu momentarilly.

Loved it, went off of it, then just started playing the games. The Gameboy games are pretty good, the GC ones are okay, and I quite liked the trading card game, though it was rather expensive.
