Unhappy Kirby Air Ride... not as expected

I don't think theres a thread about this...anyway, ya'll are probably thinking the same thing,I like kirby air ride, but its not what I thought. Its cool that you can fly but it did'nt have a plot,a story. if you think about it its pretty lame, and would get old quick.

so give me your point of view, did you like it or not???

Re: Kirby Air Ride... not as expected

I really like it. Just because it doesn't have a storyline doesn't make it a bad game! ANyway, flying around was really fun, and there were so many freakin unlockables! There are a couple bad points to this game, too. It got really repetitive, and many of the unlockables really didn't really do anything.
But, I can see why you don't like it, and I respect your opinion.

I liked it and it kept me entertained for quite a while, and though some unlockables were a bit useless or stupid, I still enjoyed the game.

I've never played it... I wanted to try it, but you can't get rentable GC games anywhere, it seems...

I played it once, and I liked it. It was so simple, it couldn't fail. It got repetitive, yes, and perhaps its "City" mode could've been more robust, but for Kirby, it was a great game.

Still prefer Mario Kart, though.

Re: Kirby Air Ride... not as expected

The game's controlls were so simple, they were hard to grasp. While I was playing, I thought that there was more to it, but nope. The game's simplicity ruined it for me. I want something based on skill, not pick-up collection.

Re: Kirby Air Ride... not as expected

My brothers have it, and I played it once while they were not home. It wasn't great, but it really wasn't all that bad either. The graphics were pretty ugly and the controls are slightly acqward. Overall, it's fairly mediocre, though not horrendous by any means.

Re: Kirby Air Ride... not as expected

I loved the controls and the variety of stars, but the game is really only good in multiplayer, 1 player mode gets old fast. It was definately not what I expected.

Re: Kirby Air Ride... not as expected

This is the place where I truly disagree with reviewers.

Most people gave it about 30%

It was great fun, it could have been better, but it is NOT as unworthy as 30%

Re: Kirby Air Ride... not as expected

Well, from my opinion it wasn't a 30%, 40% 50%,ect. It was more of a, 20% game,to me, a game has to have a story line to make it a good game. Plus they should of at least told you where kirby got that awsome super fast motorunicycle, and all thise other cool stuff.

I liked it. There are lots of unlockables and if you just have 5 minutes or something you can just do a quick round of city trial. I would rate it fairly good.

Since when do you need a storyline to have a good game? Mario Tennis didn't have a storyline, and it turned out to be great. Yes, Kirby Air Ride could have been better,it should have been a bit like Sonic Riders. (mind you, I'm not really a fan of the Sonic series, but the controls, should have been better, there could have been specials and stuff...)

Re: Kirby Air Ride... not as expected

I thought the game was a big let down compared to previous Kirby games. No story made the game sort of pointless, the gameplay overall was pretty good. Most of the time the game would get repetitive. Hopefully Kirby Sqeak squad on the DS will be worth playing.

Re: Kirby Air Ride... not as expected

Did...did...did you just say that a game has to have a storyline to be good? Well, I have three things to say.

DUCK HUNT!
PAC-MAN!
DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION!

Those are some of the most fun games ever, because they have no storyline. You just play and play and play until you get the high score. If they had a storyline, they just wouldn't have the same feel.

Anyways, to completely go against what I just said, Kirby Air Ride would have been better with a storyline, just because all Kirby games do. But it was a very fun multiplayer game. Not as great as it could have been, but it was very fun.

That is a totally different concept of games. Kirby Air ride was a let down, and was uneeded, compared to other Kirby games it was crap. Hopefully Nintendo will not rape the franchise, like they've already done with Mario.

I really don't care about that game at all! I mean seriously, the racing in that game is lame. Usually racing games are fun, like Mario Kart, but Kirby Air Ride is another story.
