Have you ever played Megaman Battle Network?

I am big fan of a series called Megaman Battle Network. I find the series to have a very nice battle system and a fun innovative battle system.

But as i played through the series i've only found one person who's even heard of it, i find it to be quite sad actually because it really is a great series that is the better of capcoms megaman games lately.

So i wanna know have you ever played it and what did you think of it?

Yes, I own 1-4...and to be honest, by the third one, it was getting REALLY boring, the only thing that kept me going was sheer boredom, and all the giga chips and other side stuff.

Re: Have you ever played Megaman Battle Network?

Actually i felt the same way intill 4 and 5 came out they really started to think of ways to keep the series going they we're quite surprising .

4 had the soul unison which has stayed since the newest game ( slightly altered in 6) as making sure not to recycle virus's and bosses so much.

5 had a special "Liberation System" which pit you in this quite fun area capture missions.

6 was just as satisfying with the revised Soul system and a new beast out system which gave you increased power for not only megaman himself if needed but allows you to combine the power of the soul and beasts to create one powerful mode with both the power of the version specific beast and and the soul of your choice. Six seemed short though prolly just cause i've played the series so much i'm used to the general feel of the game

I heard that Capcom has announced that there will be no more Battle network games for the GBA battle network 7 will be souly for the DS and will feature a whole new character so im sure even more new idea's will be added to the series.

Yes I liked the series I have 2-5 they were pretty good, I liked 3 and 5 the best because to me they were the most challenging to me. And the story of those two are the most bassed related.

I'm looking forward to 6.

Re: Have you ever played Megaman Battle Network?

Reminds me of Pokemon, but with a more real-time active based battle system.

Yawn, anyway.

I have played 1-3, and I didn't really like it. I'll take my classic Megaman, with a topping of X and a side dish of Zero.

Yea, I got a chance to play it. Bought... one of 'em. It was good, tons better than Poke'mon, though they had about the same system. Megaman games always strike a high point for me. I'm a bit of a fan. Sorta.

What the freakin hell are you talking about, the Pokemon combat engine was nothing like the Megaman battle network series. Megaman battle network is more of a stradegy/action genre, in case you didn't know Pokemon's an RPG.

Those are very different games, it's very unwise to compare those two game, and top of that comparing them as identical gameplay. If you'd really play Megaman battle network series you'd realize theirs a complete difference in these games.

Re: Have you ever played Megaman Battle Network?

You should get a newer game the Style Change has evolved in to a quite awesome Soul/ Cross feature which allows you to adopt the powers of select Bosses in the game.

Re: Have you ever played Megaman Battle Network?

Yes, I've played the ROM if you count that as playing it. I'm close to beating it too. The battle system is pretty good but I think the free roaming system thats in Tales of Symphonia is the best.

You sir, failed to read my post carefully, and automatically assumed something else.

I said that it is similar to Pokemon, but with an real time active battle system. I say its similar to Pokemon because you have to collect chips and other items to upgrade your character, similar to catching new pokemon and training them up, as well as using TM's and HM's.

Did I say that the Pokemon battle engine is a real-time active based system? No, as it is turnbased.

Battle Network is not a strategy game. Fire Emblem or Final Fantasy Tactics are.

It's also not an action game. Megaman X or Zero are side-scrolling action games.

Sure, you may say that it is a Strategy/action game, but it actually is nothing like the games I mentioned nor is it a hybrid of both. The closest genre mix it comes close to is an action RPG.

I quote Wikipedia:

The Megaman series is starting to get pretty tired and overused now. To be honest, all I would want now is a 5th Megaman Zero game mixed in with hints of X and classic Megaman. Oh wait, there sort of is. Megaman ZX.

Re: Have you ever played Megaman Battle Network?

It's still not similiar to collecting Pokemon and TMs, Pokemon you pick a set of 6 monsters to fight other monsters giving them items to power them up and such. battle Network is collecting a Unique set of 30 weapons and upgrades for a single Warrior that can not be changed they are in no way similiar. -_-

I extremely credit you on the information you have provided to enforce you're statement,
but in all honesty when I play these two games they feel absolutely nothing alike, and yes my terminology was wrong on the game genre, but my opinion can still stand valid.

And yes in some terms Megaman can be a strategy game I believe the liberation missions in 5 were strategy.
