Pros and Cons of XBox360

Some people say that certain games that were origanally for the first x box suck for the 360... for instance Halo 2... people say the online version is terrible...

I haven't even bothered playing any XBox games on the 360. The fact that not every game works with 360's backwards compatibility stuff is the main reason.

The only thing I don't like about it is that there's not many good games yet. But it just came out, so...

Oh well, Oblivion's good enough for me. Especially since my computer's too crappy to run it.

It's been almost a year. I think by now it's fair to expect a pretty decent variety of good titles.

The Xbox 360 already has a decent amount of good games. Examples:

-Oblivion (one of THE BEST games of all time).

-Call of Duty 2 (the online play is amazing).

-Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter.

-Fight Night Round 2

These are just games on the top of my head. As for cons, I can't really think of any at this time. It's sort of hard to compare when the other next-gen systems aren't even out yet. Compared to the Xbox, PS2, and the Gamecube, the Xbox 360 is like a god (I mean power wise).

oblivion is a good game.. but now I am kinda bored with it.. I need something new... something fresh... like a better shooting online game... o and by the way oblivion would have ben even better if it were online... omg that game would kick.

Nothing like a God. Nothing. It in no way boasts or even begins to boast the number of good games that the GC, PS2 and XBox have. 360's powerful, but without a lot of nice things to play on it, GC PS2 and X Box are still better.

How is it possible for a system that just improves the graphics of the game make online worse?... There's only two cons about the 360 really... for now. The price, and the games, the price is way to high and the games aren't amazingly great.

Because there is something wrong regarding backwards combatiblity so certain games from the x-box library won't play on the machine or the emulation technique used by the console makes certain aspects faulty. But I would mark its online as a pro over all because it continues with the stratgies that made the orginal console such a success online while also expanding on them as far as I can see. But the backwards compatibility of the machine has been thrown into question with many fan favourite games from the orginal being uncombatible with the new. A definite con for those won't to trade up but keep some of their old games.

Pros: Oblivion

Cons: The thing breaks after a month.

I hear the Xbox360 can cook an egg if you have it on for over an hour.

GC titles, name more than Zelda, or anything with something Zelda related in it, and multi-platform games don't count. I think you mean, PS2 and Xbox are better.

Pros: Great for cooking, at a cheap price that you can't afford.

Cons: Graphics aren't that great, the chip I put in my computer a year ago looks much better than what I've seen so far. Games aren't worth it, pretty much Xbox quality but cause the system to overheat. Price, needs to drop significantly, seriously, make gaming affordable please.

The 360 has become more and more attractive to me lately. The graphics, games, Live, and media support has me drooling. And the system finally has a decent line up of RPGs coming to it. I'm tempted to buy all three consoles this generation.

By the way for all of you who tink the 360 explodes in like a day is false... unless u bought urs right when it came out then it could happen... they say in like a couple of months they made major fixes... and it no longer explodes in like 2 hours... Igot mine like a month and a half ago at Meijers... and I have ben playing for hours and never got fried...

The games are fine people so stop crying! And second of all each game they have for the 360 have been a hit not so many games but a hit so 1 or 2 games of the 360 is perfect you dont need to buy alot.

I'm loving my 360. I've been having alot of fun with Rockstar Table Tennis and Marble Madness along with other games on the system. It's a great system, so far my pick for the best of this generation.

Right now, I'm not liking the 360. It's just kinda there, nothing really special yet. I'm sure it'll all get better, but there's not enough games for me at this time. Yeah, there's Dead or Alive 4 and Call of Duty 2, but that's really it. Once Halo 3, Gears of War, and Lost Planet come out, I'll be more interested in it.

I somewhat agree with you.

This was one of the cons of the Xbox, by far. The Xbox didn't have a lot of "great" games (I believe they made up for it with Halo). Hopefully Microsoft has learned from this mistake (it's possible that the 360 has been keeping a hold of its good games in order to counter the PS3 and Wii; but I doubt it). Some of these 360 games are looking very promising though. I'm fairly happy with my choice of buying the 360, and I stand by my decision so far.

o and u dont think that Wii will have any problems at all.... and plus xbox is a new system... they will of course make new games later...

No, the Wii will have problems too.

You can't deny that the Xbox didn't have a vast majority of "great" games in their selection. And you are right, the 360 is a new system. I'm still pleased with the results so far of the Xbox 360 so far, but to keep me pleased, Microsoft will have to make a few more "great" games (which appears to be what they are doing). But like I said, I'm pleased with my 360 so far.
