Runescape Falador Massacre

I didn't see another topic. Not many of you will know of this, but for those who do play Runescape, a very nasty thing happened on the 5/6th of June. The New Player Owned Houses have recently been opened, and with it came the Construction Skill. A person called Cursed You had a huge house party to celebrate him getting to level 99 Construction. Hundreds of people came. Eventually, he booted everyone out because he got bored. Many people had been fighting in the dungeon, and so still had all the effects of the fighting skill.
They were free to fight people like in the Wilderness. Durian123 and a few others realised this, and killed many in Rimmington by the portal. Pretty soon, a huge mass followed Durian and his cronies up to Falador. They killed any on their way, and in Falador, accumilated much money (Durian, by the end of the massacre, had 1 Santa Hat, many party hats, loads of full armour sets, and over 600mil gp). Mods were woke up in the night to come down and try to keep control. There was mass confusion because people hadn't had this happen for years. People were jumping around, asking Durian to kill them.
The Mods were sreaming to people to bank their items, teleport away, and log out. Durian and his cronies killed the mods too, and no-one could fight back. He aws invincible, and killed with an Abbyssal whip and by freezing people in place. He moved out of Falador, and moved down the road to Varrock. They changed paths before Barbarian Village, and moved up to edgeville. There, everyone scattered, and Jagex Mod Murdoch booted Durian off, and locked his account. The losses are immsense. Oh yeah, a great massacre from a few years ago is repeatedly refered to on the Runescape forums. If anyone can shed some light on what happened, I would be much appreciated.

Wow....that' a lot of sucess! But I don't understand why they wanted him to kill them.

holy ****! thats crazy! what level is this cursed guy? but thats the coolest glitch ever! Omg! I wish so bad that I could hack and make it happen again, I havnet played that game in a while tho, too bad, that must have been one crazy battle!

I know same here that must of been crazy.

The guy was level 115. The people wanted to die because they had banked their stuff already, and wanted to see what it was like. Durian only went after mods and people who had good stuff. People argue over who's fault it was. Whether it was Curse You's, the playtesters, or Durain123 and his cronies. Oh yeah, some crazy fool got it all on video, but I don't have the link right now.

Meh, things like this make me even happier that I quit Runescape. I don't get how that guy managed to kill the mods though, aren't they supposed to be invincible or something like that?

It essentially was Jagex's fault for having a exploitable glitch in their game..

There is this one mod called the level 3 Lord. He has really high stats, I mean really high, but he can be killed in one hit because he's level 3. So, some do choose to be not invincible. I actually think Player Mods (who were first on the scene) can't be invincible, but the Jagex staff are.

yah jagex staff mess with the linux code so that they are actually invulnerable to other players. And sometimes hack there stats up, as much as some of them hate to admit it!

This is one of the reasons that Runescape sucks .

Anyways, in a way it is fun, it's always very cool to see what happens when people do unexpected things. I'm reminded of the plague that swept WoW a while ago, a PC got infected with a disease, I forget which one, but he ported back to a town, within hours everyone had it, and it started spreading. Attempts were made to stop it, to no avail. I forget how it was finally resolved, but I love the fact that simple rules can cause all sorts of things like that to happen.

Maybe Runescape is going .Hack// with the same thing that happened years ago, etc. etc.
But, I still don't explain how the glitched works or how it happened. Could you explain it more.

This is quite a shock. I myself am not a member, but I know a couple of people who are, and who are also members here. I don't know if they were involved in this incident, but I really hope they're okay. I can ask them if they know anything about it, but until then I can't give you any information.
Also, if you know what world this happened in that would help too.
Another thing; if I may ask, how do you know all this information?

Most likely YouTube or another secondary source, am i right?
