Re: DDR: MARIO

How good are you?

I've never cranked my DDR:MM up to the highest level on the most challenging song, but it gets challenging. If you're a DDR nut that always is playing at the arcade, then it might be a little easy, but I'd buy it just for the music.

Re: DDR: MARIO

If you're a begginner, Mario Mix should be fine. It will take you quite a while to beat the hardest songs on that game. If you can already play some heavy songs though, it won't last you long. I reccomend DDR Max for your first DDR. It's hardest song is Max 300, which should take a long time to be able to beat. Don't get DDR Max 2 for your first like I did because there is too big of a difficulty gap between Maxx Unlimited and the rest of the songs so it takes seemingly forever to improve. You could get DDR Extreme 2, which I havn't played, but have heard it has a good song selection.

I reccomend you get ITG though. It has a huge song list. The songs seem better, and it has a difficulty above heavy for most songs. This game can get you started as a begginner, and last you well into the time you can play like a pro. (Hell, I just beat the hardest song in that game a week ago, with a C+, and I can AA or AAA everything in DDR)

Re: DDR: MARIO

I'm a DDR n00b myself, but from what litt'e I've played, I really want to get the Mario version, since I don't have a PS2. Pros don't seem to like the game much, but I've heard some decent review from novice/intermediate players, so I guess I'm gonna buy it.

Oh, and does anyone have a price on a dance mat for GCN? Cuz, you know, I'm too lazy to actually look it up.

Re: DDR: MARIO

I'm gonna get a PS2 when the PS3 comes out, because hopefully the price will drop like hell. But the only reason I'm getting a PS2 is for DDR. ...And probably some Final Fantasy. But I've seen the Mario DDR, and it just looks to kiddish. Just the way it's packaged, shown off... *shrugs* I'm sure it has some of the classic songs, but likely many not-so-good others. And on top of this, don't look for a very wide selection of songs. Of course, I haven't looked into it very much at all, but this is just my insight on it. Hope it helps.

Re: DDR: MARIO

If you're a total expert that can perfect every level in DDR at the arcade, don't get it, if not then go ahead. Bowser's Castle + Hardest level = u r pwned.

Wow, I just played it. Full comboed bowser's castle on my first try. I, for one, am not buying it.

Re: DDR: MARIO

I imported DDR with Mario from Japan when it was releaed. I'm decent at the arcade version (can pass Daikenkai on Challenge) but by no means 1337. Nevertheless although I found DDR w/ M to be a little easy at some (ok, many) points some of the songs (well, one really), such as Bowser's Castle, offer a little challenge. All of the songs are great to listen to and despite the fact that they are not entirely challenging they are still really fun and have some good quirks. For a beginner I would definately reccomend this game. To someone who is familiar with DDR I would still say that this is a game that is needed in their collection. C'mon, how often do you get to see Bowser break dance?
