Flutes

Does anyone have any clue as to where the flutes lay in Super Mario Brothers 3? I know there's one in Bowser's Castle, but what about others, and yes, there are more.

Re: Flutes

I haven't played it in years, but I think I remember where two are.

In the third level of world one, jump on the white platform near the end of the level and hold the down button. This should take you "behind the scenes." Keep following the path to the end of the level, but instead of hitting the "Course Clear" box, you'll be taken to a chest with a whistle that the little mushroom dude gives you.

Another one is in the castle in the first world. Make sure you have the flying ability set. Go to the end of the first floor where the skeleton koopa is, but do not go through the door. Instead, fly to the top of the level, and go right until you're brought to a chamber with the whistle.

If you want to beat the game really quickly, you just have to beat the first world and then use a whistle in world two. You'll be taken to the warp zone select screen, and from here you should be able to select world seven as the highest, I think. Go there and use the second whistle, which will take you to the final world.

Re: Flutes

There are three total... I do believe Slime missed one.

In World 1-3, you need to crouch on one of those white things before the exit and drop down to the ground. You will be behind the scenary, to which you can move behind the exit. You get the whistle there.

In the fortress in World 1, you have to fly up to the top of the ceiling before the first door. There is a bones koopa below the ceiling you have to fly to.

In World 2, you need the hammer to break a block at the top right of the world. You'll be in an area with a roman numeral three as a river. You have to beat the hammer brothers in that area to get the third whistle.

Re: Flutes

No problem!

I only know them because I get them every time I play, yet never use them. Force of habit, I suppose.
