New Super Mario Bros User Review

I just purchased this game at my local EB and it is fantastic. It is worth the price of a ds alone!
So i thought of making a thread designed to share the pros and and cons of this game.

Mine:

Pros
-2D Mario gameplay
-Variety in levels (unlike super mario sunshine)
-no "cleaning devices"
-variety in end bosses
-simple storyline(sticks to the classic)
-enemies in great variety
-great 2.5d graphics
-music features a good mix between the new and old



Cons
-no playable Luigi (SPOILER until u have beaten the game)
-no Yoshi
-rehash of super mario 64 ds minigames
-no hidden or secret world
-Baby bowser jr
-NO FLYING
-new power ups are not inspiring

So what were ur highs and lows?

Meh. <6 Days old. But it really should be resurrected considering all the threads the title is spawning.

-music features a good mix between the new and old
-Variety in levels (unlike super mario sunshine)

I would take the complete oppisite side on all three of those.

-no playable Luigi (SPOILER until u have beaten the game)

...You can play him right from the beginning...

Holy freakinzoid this game sure is getting a alot of hype, i'm defanitley going to get it now.
Anyway I thinking it's good overall.

Unless you count worlds 4 and 7, of course. I think those kind of made up for the lack of a secret world.

I love the music, particularly the beach level theme, the castle theme, and the lava theme (played in three of the final four regular levels). I really like the blue shell powerup, though it causes your death sometimes in tricky places (if you hit a wall and fall into a pit, there's no wall-jumping out). One of the coolest parts of the game is saving a huge mushroom until the end of a stage and then smashing through the flagpole.

I've had fun with this game. I got it the first day I could get my hands on it, and I've beaten it completely three times in my spare time. One thing I found kind of strange is that using Luigi is pretty much the same as using Mario, unlike the other games that allowed you to choose.
