You guys ever feel...tied to a game?
I know this is going to be one of the stupidest questions ever and will probably be quoted as such, But have you guys ever felt as if....You get some game, or see it, and you know you have to play it. Your not sure why, but its calling to you.....
Not just cause its part of a series, Like Zelda or Mario....But something youve never heard of, or have heard of but never bothered to play... This is kinda how I feel right now, see I went into the local video store and was lookin around when I saw they had the game "Chrono Cross" for sale. Id heard its name before, and even seen a couple of charcters from it, but it just screamed out to me "Buy me" So I did..... I played it and it was really boring, yet I couldnt stop, something inside kept saying play it more....play it more.... Have any of you ever felt like this? I havent felt like this since Majoras Mask came out, But that was part of a series too so.....

Re: You guys ever feel...tied to a game?
I have felt tied to some vidoe games before. The 2 that come to mind is Kirby 64 and Chrono Trigger. How I got tied-in to Chrono Tirgger was that I listened to some remixes of CT's music and then I did some research on what the game was about. Finally, I felt like I had to play it, so I downloaded it and I enjoyed the hell out of the game. As for Kirby 64, my sis saw the game at Blockbuster on night, so we decided to rent it and play it. From there, I became obsessed with the game.

Re: You guys ever feel...tied to a game?
For me it was "The Hobbit" for the PC. I'm not a big Tolkien fan, but when I saw the game in the Best Buy flyer, it screamed "Buy Me" (It was cheap too
). I enjoyed it a bit, its no LoZ, though it plays like it...

Re: You guys ever feel...tied to a game?
Oh yeah, I totally know what you're talking about. I got sucked into Kirby 64 too. Another game that was calling to me was Donkey Kong 64, and that game's not even that great. My little brother got pulled into the Banjo and Cazooey series (or however you spell it). I've found that half the games I've bought spontaniously are flops.

Re: You guys ever feel...tied to a game?
For me it was Fable. It was pretty boring and I'd never heard of it or seen it until I bought it. As I kept playing it though it got better.

Re: You guys ever feel...tied to a game?
Where do I begin?
Well, first and foremost is Xenogears (that game is one of the best games ever in my opinion). I originally bought it from my friend (from some reason, he bought it to school). He sold it to me for around, $10-$15. I don't know why I bought it. I usually looked at reviews about games before I bought them, but for some reason, I just had to have this game. So I scraped up some money, and bought it from him. And I really enjoyed that game. Any Xenosaga fan should defiantly buy this game, or any fan of RPG's for that matter. And did I mention how good of a game it was (but, that's for another thread)? I have more stories, but I'll leave it at that.

Re: You guys ever feel...tied to a game?
Yes... Stubbs the Zombie. I first saw it in an Apple store, and I thought it looked really fun. Five months later I finally found it for the Xbox and bought it online. I waited another six weeks, got it, and played it for two days. Then I beat it, and I still play it every once in a while. It was worth it. *Shrugs*

Re: You guys ever feel...tied to a game?
Well, I really don't get tied to too many. I got tied to Kingdom Hearts when I got it. I didn't have a memory card at the time, but I still played. My dad ended up turning off the system while I slept, so I had to start all over again.
Another game was Katamari Damacy. My brother had told me little about it. He only told me that he was buying it and that was that. The game had weird colors and figures, so I thought, "Well, it looks like a little kid game." Then I learned my mistake. I love the game now and at one time was extremely hooked. ^.^ Hahahah! Those are really the only games I can think of.

Re: You guys ever feel...tied to a game?
Tales of Symphonia. I had never played any of the Tales games, but when I saw that game's preview in a Game Informer I simply had to play it. I bought it shortly after it came out and have played it for... uncountable hours. It's one of my favorite games now.
Chrono Trigger was the same way. My friend had it for a while... I loved that game too. I never got the chance to buy it though. I would have. Final Fantasy VII. I'm no Final Fantasy fan, but that game was the first I played in the series. I had a ton of fun. I don't even remember why I enjoyed it so much. I think that's it. |

Re: You guys ever feel...tied to a game?
Beyond Good & Evil. It just seemed like my kind of a game and was getting great reviews, so why not?
I did have trouble buying it, though. Allow me to ramble about it for a way too long time, even though nobody cares. When BG&E was released, I thought of buying it for my only console, the GC. Then I saw how much space it took on the memory card. I had just bought a new one and didn't want to be wasting all my money on them, so I forgot about it. Then later on, I ended up buying a bigger memory card with plenty of space to store BG&E saves in. The problem was, nobody ever bought the game, so it was just about impossible to find a GC copy of it. Later on, I found the PC version on sale in a store and bought it. Even though I knew a game like that works much better on consoles.

Re: You guys ever feel...tied to a game?
Probably Majora's Mask is the closest I'd ever been tied to a game. I was planning to buy it anyway since it's Zelda, but I was amazed at how thought-provoking the game was. I must've beat that game in five days or something, because I couldn't stop playing it. Also, the mood of the game would put me in a sort of existentialist, philosophical mood sometimes. I recall looking out the window at the full moon and thinking about what it would be like in Termina. That game always makes me feel like an insignificant speck on this planet.

Re: You guys ever feel...tied to a game?
The first Zelda game came out the same time I was born...
So yeah, I'd have to say Zelda.
