X-Box 360 question

Recently, i got an X-Box 360 and my only game so far is "Call of Duty 2" (Plans to get more X-Box 360 games) Now, i heard that the X-Box 360 could play X-Box games, so i rented a game for the X-Box to test it out. Turns out, i'm not sure how you play X-Box games on the X-Box 360, i heard that you had to download it, but the trouble is, the menu bars and everything....They are in Japanese, and i can't read it. Is there a way to change it all into English? It's like this. For those who has one, load it up and press the button on the center, the one with the "X" on it. A menu thing will show up on the side of the screen, but in my system, it's all in Japanese, is it supposed to be like that? (The console works brilliantly, the game i have works wonderous on it. Nothing is wrong with the console itself, it's just the menu thing that bugs me)

You know Fable from the X-Box? Let's say i decided to get it, how do i actually play it on the X-Box 360?

Thanks!

Do you have the Hard Drive for the X-box 360? If not, then you can't play X-box games. I'm not sure why it's in Japanese. What game did you rent? Are you sure it's not a Japanese game to begin with?

Try this one....

It is all there on the official Xbox website... O well guess it is too hard to type in www.xbox.com

And your language problem: http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;906662

Well this should solve all your problems.

Re: X-Box 360 question

Thanks! (Goes to change language) YES! It works!

Thank you so much! Now, for the deal with the origonal X-Box games on the X-Box 360, this choice makes me wonder:

Update the Console
Update the backward compatibility program as well as the operating system software in your Xbox 360 console.

Step 1: Place the CD in the Xbox 360 console.
Step 2: The update program will start automatically. Select "Continue" to apply the update.
Step 3: Wait for the update to complete
Step 4: Your system needs to have the operating system software updated. Select "Yes, update now" and press the A button.
Step 5: The console will reboot and you're done. Insert your original Xbox games and enjoy!

So basically, in order to do this, i have to go buy/rent an X-Box game, insert it in my X-Box 360 and follow those steps and i'll be buying and playing X-Box games in no time?

The CD in step 1 is a install CD with the necessary software on it.

You have 3 options to get the software necessary:

1- Download it from X-Box Live (which is the simplest)

Quote:
Finally, make sure you're signed into Xbox Live, and then place an original Xbox game in the drive and close it. This will start the backward compatibility application and cause Xbox Live to send an update to the application, if necessary.

Note: Once you have started this process, you must proceed to completion. Failure to complete the install process may result in your Xbox 360 being unable to play any games until you have finished.

Once this update is installed, you are ready to play any supported original Xbox games. Future updates will be installed automatically, as long as you are signed into Xbox Live when you start the original Xbox game.
2- Create your own CD with the software on it: (You need a computer with a DVD or CD burner.)

Quote:
The second method is to download a file from Xbox.com and burn a DVD or CD. This method is a quick way if you don't have your console connected to a broadband connection, or if you use a dialup connection to the Internet. You could even do this at a friend's house who has an Internet connection and a DVD or CD burner.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Download the Original Xbox Game Support
update here.
3- Is order it from Microsoft

Quote:
Order a Disc
There will be a nominal fee charged for this disc and shipping and handling.

ORDER

When you receive the disc, follow the steps below to update your console. You will update the backward compatibility program as well as the operating system software on the console in this step.
So after you have installed the software yes you are good to go and play the following games:

Re: X-Box 360 question

You can't play all games just a some if you get the full version. search google for (offical xbox 360 backwards compatable list) and you should come up with something.
