Mario Party DS

So the Title explains what Im about to talk about.Well here goes. The possibility of Mario Party DS is unknown but I think it should be thought about by Nintendo.First off everyone gets their position on one screen and the others positions in the bottom screen.Neat huh?

The multiplayer would be great too, You could have 8 people playing.Multicard for a board game, single card for mini games.Wi-fi would also, in my opinion, prove to be spectacular on the DS.No more having to invite friends over, you just log on to wi-fi.

The Mini games would also go to a new level.Microphone for taunting, blowing and much more! The Touch screen could be used for some cool mini games like mario band stand. The two screens could also prove to be able to handle long games like cast aways or deep sea diving!(Sorry I only have number MP1)

So, like the idea?Any new features you would want for the DS game?Well post it all here!

Re: Mario Party DS

I would buy a WiFi enabled version in a heart beat. It would actually by the first Mario Party to be a must play for me since all the way back to 2. And yes, DS features could be used for some mini games, and in that way, stay away from some of the stale old ones.

One thing the series needs to change completely, however, is the number of mini games. No more "80 NEW MINIGAMES!", because frankly, 80 isn't enough. 80 gets really boring. Nintendo hasn't really made quite an effort over the years of Mario Party history to add more variety and trying to keep the game from getting old after a couple of play throughs.

Re: Mario Party DS

A DS Mario Party would be a lot of fun. Wifi could provide a lot of options, and the stylus could really be incorporated neatly, with the mini-games and moving around the board and such. It would be an interesting thing that the series badly needs.

Re: Mario Party DS

The series died at 3, I own one and two, and have played three at friends houses. Nintendo did a microphone version way to late when people were a bit sick of the series, so I'd say that a DS version would most definatly renue the series, mostly if it had wifi. I could just imagine hitting my friends characters with my stylus.. over and over.... and over again. :XD

A couple thing though is that, like Mr. Wonderful said, they need a larger amount of different minigames, and by different, I mean not 30 Catch the (x) mini games.

Also, talking would have to be a must, as well as blowing into the microhpone. And an unnecesary feature such as hitting your friends characters with the stylus, that'd be great, whether it be in a mini game or not.

One last thing, more characters to choose from. Sure it may be stupid but I'd hate to have to race my friends to the Pirhana Plant or Bowser. More characters are needed.

Re: Mario Party DS

Well, like most people here. I want tons of new mini-games. I stopped playing the series after playing Mario Party 3. To me, it was basically the same thing, with better graphics (we don't need graphics in this game; we need a better amount of enjoyment!). I like the idea of the microphone. Defiantly going to be interesting to see what the possible outcomes will Nintendo use the microphone? The stylus would be interesting to use as well. I just hope that the whole game isn't based upon that (like so many other DS games). Nintendo needs to be a little bit more creative; where in lays the microphone.

New characters? Scoria, there are only so many characters in the Mario Team. Would you like to play as a Goomba XD? But yeah, I agree with Scoria. New characters do sound interesting, although, it isn't really needed.

All in all, it'd be interesting to see Nintendo's ideas with Mario Party. So I'd be defiantly buying this game (plus I miss the Mario Party series...).

Re: Mario Party DS

I agree with Scoria, the series just started getting samey after 3. 4 was okay, but the novelty wore off after a while.

Now they're coming out faster then I can not buy them.

Seriously, Nintendo really need to stop wasting time and money on Mario Party, the series has been stretched until it's broken. I really wish Nintendo would take the energy put into series like Mario Party and Mario (insert sport here), and make something new. Seriously, their only contributions to the RPG arena recently have been Paper Mario and Fire Emblem (and they don 't seem to bothered about Golden Sun.) But I would want more rpgs, being an rpg glutton. But Mario party is just like one of those many movie fanchises we see today. They are are not really funny, inventive, beautiful or original, there's just a lot of them.

Re: Mario Party DS

Yes, Mario Party wpuld be at least decent, not like all the other Mario partys. It will redeem Mario Party and there could be tons of new mini games with the touch screen plus the WI-fi would be a good idea. I'm sure Nintendo is already thinking about it. it could really be a DS hit.

Yeah I agree, the only bad guy we have is wario and hes acting like a good guy.We could also have all Donkey Kongs Mates and yeah bring on the evil guys.Give us shy guy as well, I'd love to play as him.

That stylus idea, hitting your friend, That could be used as a taunt or everytime hes moving you could tap his head to make his number of moves go down.

The microphone has got to be "definetely" used for chat unless they give us the keyboard option while in play. Its kinda boring not chatting to others while playing games.

Re: Mario Party DS

Yes I sort of like the idea of Mario Party DS.
But for me to be impressed they'd have to put tons minigames, and bring back some classic good ones.

For the Wi-fi possibility they should not lack on different mini-games to play.

Re: Mario Party DS

I think if they combined their original mini games with new mini games! That will be enough to occupy us for a long time!I would also like to see the board more interesting...

Re: Mario Party DS

That lack of characters issue is a real bad one. Everyone races for Yoshi...

Maybe they could let more than one person choose the same character? Have the whole Mario Party DS based around "clones" that have come to the Mushroom Kingdom, and let the first person to choose a character go that character, and the next person gets a clone of that character, with slightly different colors, or something...

Re: Mario Party DS

Maybe when you and your friends play Mario party but not with my play mates...Everyone has their own character but I think more characters should be accessible and maybe unlockable.

Re: Mario Party DS

The thing is with Mario Party on a handheld, it is kinda a waste of battery juice, sitting around waiting for your turn. I think Mario Party would be better if they sped things up a bit.

Re: Mario Party DS

But that's a part of the gameplay, where your opponents make their move to grab all the coins and stars, or screw you over. If they found a way to sped things up, it'd be nice, but I doubt it's necessary. DS can run for a while before needing to be charged, so I don't really think it'd be much of a hassle. I just plug mine in to charge when I go to bed at night, ands the next morning it's ready to go and plays for a good couple days.

Re: Mario Party DS

Mirrens right, Thankgod that the battery life isn't as bad as the PSP..Usually the longest Mario Party game can last up to 2 hours and for wi-fi I think they would propably cap the games to a max of 1 hour.

...Do you own a PSP? 6 hours is plenty of time between recharges when playing a game. If you don't own the system, don't act like you know what you're talking about.
