AHHH!!! *Head gets chainsawed off* What is the scariest RE4 moment? possible spoilerz

I've got to say, the scariest moment Ive ever scene is when you get your head chainsawed off, but not being able to see it coming.

The scariest is hearing an enemy yelling or revving up a chainsaw right behind you...

When I finall realized how cliche and repetitive the storyline wa-*Shot.* >_>;

On a more serious note, easily in the sewers where you find Right Hand. Atleast I think that was his name... Y'know, the one you need to freeze to hurt him... Yeah, he was cool.

As far as scary moments go....well, hardly any were scary. but I guess any segment involving the regenerators.

To me, these are the scariest moments in Re4. Lab with the Regenerators and Iron Madions, the Sewer with the invisible bugs, and the hanging cage with "It".

In fact I think the only scary moment in the game is when you walk into that shed and see that girl hanging from the wall.

I honesty didn't think it was scary, my brother was jumping like crazy though. And he's 22. Probably the Regenerators, though.

Well I'd say... the sewer with Right Hand. That was... gah. Scary. And the regenorators...

I was just playing and I started to hear the regenorator things breath. Gosh thats a weird breath. So I opened the door to leave a room and a regenorator was in my face I actually screamed. So I took out my shotgun quickly aand shot him in the leg... then he started crawling around after me... That and the Right Hand were the scariest.

And how the hell is getting your head sawed off scary? I couldn't belive what was happening the first time it happened to me in the village fight. I was shocked The is my first M games so it took a while for me not to feal like I was doing something wrong when I played.

The scariest moment for me was actually in the Mercenaries mode.

I was on the island level, where the important enemy is that double chainsaw guy. Him running after me was kinda freaky, but that's not what got me. What got me was when I decided I would wait for him on a platform, high above the ground. I figured I'd wait for him to climb the ladder, so then I could shoot him off and basically own him in a cheap way. Well, he ran up to the ladder, and as I readied my gun, he frickin leaped up off the grand to stand right next to me. That's what made me wig out.

What wasn't scary? I can't think of a moment that wasn't scary...
Zombies, wolfes, sudden noises, invisible enemies, the sewers, the lab with regenerators WAAAH! I think my heartbeat was a steady 210 while playing the game

The game is scary the first time you play it through, especially because you just don't know what to expect next. It's like a horror movie: if you go in thinking "I won't get scared, I won't get scared" then you won't get scared. If you play it like any other game there are sure to be some parts that creep you out. The game scares you largely like a Hitchcock film, I find. It's not the bang that scares you, but the anticipation of it.

I'd say the first couple of moments to really freak me out were the sewers with the bug-like creatures that spit acid at you, and when you fight Salazar's Right Hand. The tension build-up is great there.

I didn't find the game scary at all. It was fun, but when those guys just yell at you in spanish from a mile away, they give themselves away. The chainsaw is only scary when it goes off right behind you, because otherwise it's just a symbol that a baddy needs killing.
Maybe I didn't get scared simply because I had already played through the silent hill games. Those are WAAAAY scarier than RE.

Oh yeah, the "Right Hand". That dude was freaky, but I died so much so then he wasn't scary. The bugs in the sewers didn't scare me at all though.
It was hilarious to watch my brother play that part though. He was creeping around the corner, and I was just I told him they were cloaked and he said, "NOooo!".

I think you are right I was more scared walking through dark quiet areas than when I was actually fighting the enemies, so if I play it again it will be less but not gone I think because it has been quite a while since I last played it.

RE4 won't chill you to the bone, instead it'll startle you. Most of the time when I jumped, it was because I had no idea what was going to go pop out at me; Plagas Dogs in the Garden Maze, the Novistradors, the first Garrador, the Oven Man etc.

Though, there are definitely times like with the Regenerators, Verdugo (Salazar's boy) and the Sack that are either creepy or over-the-top tense

Yeah, Silent Hill is much scarier. Especially if you play when you're a fifth grader...
