Re: Why do you buy Nintendo and not Playstation?

I have both systems. I buy Nintendo for the fantastic first party games (Metroid, Zelda, ...DK, Mario). I buy Playstation for the 3rd Party support and RPGs. You can't survive gaming on just a Nintendo system, since most of their good first party games are far and few between.

Re: Why do you buy Nintendo and not Playstation?

sad to say the only real reason I stay a Nintendo fan is because of Link, they do come out with some other good random games but Link is the only real reason I could not feel compleate w/out playing a LoZ game. BUT I also can't trun my back on the FF games, and other great square games. And because of that I buy both but I don't think I'll ever get an X-Box type thing.

A while back I could have bought an N64 or a playstation because they costed the same. Zelda made me decide Nintendo. Nintendo all the way!

Re: Why do you buy Nintendo and not Playstation?

Except that the Xbox has done nothing but loose billions. The amount of money Nintendo earns equates about to the amount that Xbox looses. Doesn't sound like good business sense to me, if "all Bill Gates wants is money."

I have Nintendo, and not Playstation or Xbox at this point mostly because all my friends had playstation, xbox, or both. No one had a Gamecube... so, if I really wanted to play a game on one of those systems, I'd go somewhere else. If I want to play an online game, that's what the compy is for.

Re: Why do you buy Nintendo and not Playstation?

I have both Nintendo and Playstation products. I have a Gamecube, a PSP, a PS1, and 3 different Gameboys. Most of the time I buy Nintendo game systems because they are usually cheaper than Playstation game systems. Sometimes better Playstation products than Nintendo do come out, and I buy those, regardless of price.

Re: Why do you buy Nintendo and not Playstation?

Two reasons. First off, the price of the systems. When you compare the starting prices of the systems from each company, the Nintendo systems always have the lower price. Second, the games. Nintendo is good at classic arcade styled games like Mario, Star Fox, and Rogue Squadron. Nintendo also has excellent adventure games, such as Zelda, and... Well, Zelda. I can't think of anything else, so I'm done.

Re: Why do you buy Nintendo and not Playstation?

I have only Nintendo products. Nintendo just feels good to me, it has some good game series's (?), like Star Fox, Legend of Zelda, Mario, etc. Playstation has always seemed kind of cheap to me. X-Box... Well, from what I've played (Halo and Battle Front), it wasn't that good... I have a Game Boy color, a Nintendo 64, and a Game Cube. Star Wars for Nintendo is good, too... "Shadows of the Empire," was one of my favorites in that category. That's... about all I can say.

Re: Why do you buy Nintendo and not Playstation?

I own Nintendo consoles and Sony consoles. Back in the N64/PSone days, I thought Nintendo 64 was wat better than PSone, but today... PlayStation 2 is much, much, much better than the GameCube. The thing I actually like about Sony is that they care about their fans and produce products aimed to fans. I have no clue who or what Nintendo aims their products to anymore.

Pwnt.

I buy Nintendo for a number of reasons. One, Zelda and Mario games. Two, I detest the Playstation because of its endless lacklustre sequels which do very little but improve slightly on graphics. Three, GTA. Grand Theft Auto, in my opinion, ruined gaming. Every free-roaming game has suddenly become GTA-meets-something. Spider-Man 2: Grand Theft Arachnid. Simpsons Hit And Run: GTA Springfield. The GTA generation wrecked gaming as we know it (The effect is obvious in the case of Shadow the Hedgehog). If the GTA series ever comes to a Nintendo console, I'm going to Hell to shovel snow for the rest of eternity.

Re: Why do you buy Nintendo and not Playstation?

Why I like Nintendo- Very reasonable prices, awesome first-party games, a good variety of genres, games that are unique and often try to do something new

Why I like Sony- Awesome third-party support, a massive collection of RPG and adventure games, free online-gaming

Why I like Microsoft- Eh...actually, I don't like Microsoft. I like all of about three games for X-Box and 360 (Jade Empire, Fable and Halo CE, but that's even on the PC)

Now, let's be fun here

Why I dislike Nintendo- Zilch as far as third-party support goes (GC), lack of titles in some game genres, many idiotic company officials

Why I dislike Sony- Weak system compared to others (PS2, as far as graphics, power and sound go etc.), is practically all third-party, tons of crap titles from those third-party supporters, endless re-hashed titles, whether they're sequels or new games

Why I dislike Microsoft- Ass-hat company officials, systems 'burning out', horrible controllers, is composed of pretty much all action games that relate to shooting or slicing enemies apart, next to no originality in the games, re-hash capital of the gaming world

Re: Why do you buy Nintendo and not Playstation?

I bought Nintendo because of several reasons:

1. They have games that I want to play (Mario, to be exact).
2. I like the controller setups that they have (especially the Nintendo 64 one).
3. SNES is the first console that I've ever had, so naturally, I stuck with Nintendo.
4. They have affordable prices. Sony and Microsoft are rip-offs.

Besides, I hate loading screens and PS gave me a lot of that, and a long time too. Not to mention that sometimes when I played the PS games, they suddenly froze in the middle of all the actions to load.

Re: Why do you buy Nintendo and not Playstation?

I buy Nintendo consoles because of Zelda, mostly. I've said it a lot in the past, but here I go again: If Zelda disappears from Nintendo, so do I as a customer.

I'd probably switch to Xbox, because Playstation does not appeal to me at all.

I agree with some parts of that. Just look at the Revolution, ten times smaller than the Xbox, yet more powerful. It's an annoying console with no talent or creativity whatsoever put in it, but I still enjoy it. Xbox Live is horrible though, I'd pay Microsoft just to shut it down.

Playstation is something I'd rather skip even if Microsoft and Nintendo gave up. I'm just against all those manga/anime-styled games, really annoying.

Oh, and GTA is in no way a flagship of some sort for the Playstation. It's available for Xbox and PC as well.

Re: Why do you buy Nintendo and not Playstation?

I buy both. I like Nintendo the best though. My Gamecube and DS are about all I play aside from my PC. Why? Because of the games. A console/handheld is nothing without them. Nintendo has all of the games that I like such as Zelda, Mario, Metroid, and others. But mostly I like the variety of Nintendo games. Microsoft and Sony don't have this. Instead the PS2 has almost only RPG's and the X-box/X-box 360 have almost only First/Third person shooters. So Nintendo all the way!

N64 prices weren't low until the end of it's life. It also had the most expensive games of it's generation. The only reason the Gamecube price is so low is because Nintendo dropped the price so that people would actually buy a failing system. The DS's original price is reasonable, for what it is, and so is the PSP's, for what it is. The difference there is the PSP hasn't had a price drop yet. The Revolution is the only console that's so far from Nintendo that is actually lower in price with some amount of purpose of being affordable. All other arguements are a bit of a folly.

There were a ton of crappy PSX games with loading times, but then again, most of the popular good ones didn't have any loading times at all. And the original PSX was crap. Yeah. It did have all kinds of freezing problems. Lucky for me, all my PSX games have been played on a PS2.
