My N64 is just getting a little worn out, and I remember skipping SNES entirely because N64 came out by the time my NES system wore out entirely. Although I think we replaced a part at sometime for the NES.
They do get a lot of games out as it is, but you have to pay hundreds of dollars for the new systems, and they stop making games for the old systems. You may wonder why I would still buy N64 games when I have a gamecube. It's because my N64 isn't ready for the trash can yet. The joystick on the controller is, but the system is doing fine.
I can remember working on my old NES for five minutes trying to get it to turn on. If you could get it to start, it worked just fine. They don't need to come out with new systems every five years. The span between systems should be longer than the system's warranty.

They did this once. And they must have had a pretty dang good reason to not do it again. Also Nintendo builds its consoles to last a long time. My NES and every Nintendo console up still works perfectly. The reason that they don't space their consoles further apart is so that they don't fall behind the competition.
