Mystical Ninja: Starring Goemon was for the Nintendo 64, not the SNES. I think you are talking about Legend of the Mystical Ninja. I really want to play this game, but I haven't yet.

My List:

1. Super Mario RPG
2. Donkey Kong Country 2
3. Yoshi's Island
4. Super Mario World
5. Street Fighter II
6. Donkey Kong Country
7. Super Mario Allstars
8. Batman Returns

Re: Favorite SNES game

Anyone remember Cool Spot? Anyone even know what it is?

Ahh, I remember playing this game forever. But it was always very hard. Anyway, it was this red dot with shades and hands. The first level was sand. There was another with a bath tub. There also the bonus level, which I think took place in a bottle of 7up.

And here is the game cover:

EDIT: This game was also for the Sega Genisis.

Re: Favorite SNES game

Ahh, let's see...

1. Super Castlevania 4
(One of my earlier games for the Super Nintendo, this is among one of my finest choices, in ever recommending someone to play a Castlevania game.)

2. Chrono Trigger
(Wonderful story, and I love going through all the different era's.)

3. TLoZ:ALttP
(Besides LoZ/AoL, this game has truly brough me into the Zelda universe. Everytime I play this game, I love to see the transition that takes place between the lost lands and the normal Hyrule.)

4. Super Metroid
(I love this game, I use to go hours and hours on end with playing this game. The environments, with the superb music, makes this game a true winner.)

5. Super Mario World
(Yeah, this game is self-explanatory...) : )

6. Megaman and Base
(Japanese: Rockman and Forte, I absolulty love this little story in the Megaman Universe.)

7. Super Mario All Stars
(Ahh, all of my favorite Mario games bundled into one, with tons of enhancements.)

8. Castlevania Dracula XX
(It's in here, even though I love Rondo over it.)

9. Megaman X
(The game that started the X series off and is among my favorite in the X series next to X3/X4/ and X5.)

10. Bomberman 3
(The favorite in the Snes series of Bomberman, it's a must for great party experience.)

I could go on and on... : )

8: Mario Paint (Yes Mario Paint)
7: DK Country (It is country isn't it)

Re: Favorite SNES game

1. LOZ A link to the past- This is the best game ever. I loved it the first time I played it, I still love it today.
2. Super Mario brothers 3- Best Mario Game ever. It's amazing what you can fit on a SNES cart.Especially when the are three other great games on the same cart.
3. Super Mario World- A great game, second best Mario game ever.
4. Donkey Kong Country 3- An excellent game, best two-player game on the SNES.
5. Super Mario Bros- A good solid platformer, simple but fun
6. Super MArio the Lost Levels- Like the Super Mario Bros. but slightly worse.
7. Super MArio Bros. 2- Quite weak compared to the other 2D Marios but still a fun game.
8. Super Mario Kart- A fun game, which started the whole series off.

And that's 8 out of my 9 SNES games.

That game worked well with a mouse. I'd like to see that idea used for the Revolution.

Re: Favorite SNES game

My personal favorites are Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, and Earthbound. I wasn't fortunate enough to ever get my hands on Tales of Phantasia (which I'm really excited for the GBA release of), and my brother never let me play his copy of ALTTP much, but the games I did play back in the old days of SNES were some of the greatest I've ever played.

Chrono Trigger had an engaging story, quite original for me since I hadn't played many RPGs beforehand. The characters were great and I enjoyed the battles. It was a lot of fun fighting against Magus' army, partying with Ayla's tribe, and sneaking out of jail. Frog's backstory was very emotional and was a large part of what made him my favorite.
I loved the game's music too. Something about SNES songs really add to the epic feel of a game.
I adored Frog and Marle's characters, and having Magus in your party was rather interesting. The multiple endings gave the game some pretty good replay value.

Super Mario RPG had practically all the same great elements from CT, and the added charm and familiarity of a Mario game. I really liked both Geno and Mallow, and the whole Marrymore part was loads of fun. Having Bowser and Peach in your party was an amusing idea. Sometimes after playing some Paper Mario, I like to boot this old one up and relive the classic first true Mario RPG.

Earthbound was a strange game, but it was fun and had some great characters. I liked the size of the cities, and the reoccurring characters like the Runaway Five. The battle system was okay, not spectacular but it was easy to figure out. I loved some of the ideas for the chapters. It was a very creative, different game to say the least.

Re: Favorite SNES game

I only have three games that I really liked for SNES:

1. Starfox
2. Super Mario World
3. Yoshi's Island.

They've brought me joy for years to come and entertained me quite a bit when I was young. I remembered that I couldn't wait until the weekends arrived (I could only play on weekends back in those days). When I finally beat Starfox in all three difficulties, I was so happy about what I have accomplished. When I finally revealed and finished all the levels in Super Mario World, I couldn't believe that I went through 80-something levels and completed the game 100%.

Yoshi's Island was damn fun. The graphical style was interesting and the gameplay was wonderful. *Sigh*.... All the good memories.
