Mother 3 / Earthbound 2

This game really deserves some attention, especially now that they've finally started pulling the curtain. I hope I'm not the only one who cares about it.

The graphics seem look pretty much identical to Earthbound, except that they've gotten rid of the isometric perspective. Quite a gamble I'd say, the almost over-simplistic graphics were a pretty major factor in Earthbounds really limited commercial success outside Japan. If they plan to release it anywhere else that is.

Anyway, it's been 10 years since Earthbound/Mother 2 was released, so it's safe to say that I've got quite high expectations.
When I played Earthbound for the first I couldn't really decide wether I hated it or loved it. But I eventually reached the conclusion that it was one of the greatest RPG's ever, and it still is..
My only concern is wether or not we'll a North American release since it has yet to be confirmed. Since that Earthbound has gotten itself a certain degree of advertising through Super Smash Bros. I can see this game doing better than the first.

The Earthbound stage was my favorite stage in Smash Brothers, and it also had my favorite music. It made me curious about the game too, but do you know what platform this is going to be on? The graphics indicate gameboy, but the music is too good quality for that right?

It's actually a GBA game. That music sample is probably not the version we'll hear in-game.

Yeah. I saw the new shots a couple of days ago. It looks fantastic, but too bad its coming out in a time where it'll already be out dated. Though I wouldn't want to see a delay for a DS release either. This game's been in development for way too long now already.

I only played Earthbound once at my friends house. He had the ROM. I really don't remember it much because it was back in '98 or '99, but I hear it is an amazing game. Nintendo has been pretty much egnoring their American fans everytime they scream for a new Earthbound so I doubt this will be released in North America.

I loved EarthBound. EarthBound 2 (Mother 3) should be for DS. Screw the GBA man, what's done is done. That ship has sailed.
