First Rev game from Tecmo(Golf)

So it seems that Rev will be getting a Golf game from Tecmo...it's not the game specifically that makes me want to talk about it...it's the fact that we have screens! These screens are not from Rev but are from it's PC counterpart, however, these graphics should indicate to us something that the Rev can pull off.

Oh God. It's awful. I hope the Revolution can handle more than that. I wouldn't know the technological aspects of the game, but just by looking at it, I don't see why Gamecube couldn't handle this. I honestly think Mario Golf looked better.

That looks very nice. Very colorful too. Jehuty, do you know if this game will be using the Revo. controller or the "shell" Nintendo talked about?

It's an online golf game called Albatross 18, it is currently in an open beta stage.
That's the PC version.

I think it's designed for low-end machines. I doubt the Revolution version will look like that. I'm sure they'll be using the remote for stuff like swinging the bat.

I Hope that revolution will make better games with better graphics.

The graphics for the Revolution don't concern me at all right now, it's the whole interface/controller scheme that has me intrigued.

I'd love to have a golf game that was played by swinging your controller..

The graphics look pretty bad. Almost looks like a PlayStation 1 game. Hopefully Revolution can handle more than that.

And to think, once Nintendo says,"Graphics don't matter." Most fanboys agreed. Where is your "Graphics don't matter" now?

When did anyone say they do? Graphics, for me, won't determine wether this game, and the console, will be good. I do, however, think that a next generation console should be able to do alot more than that. I hope that this isn't all the Revolution can handle but if it is I won't care too much.

In the same place it always was, basically. Your post is very ignorant. If graphics DID matter I'd like someone to explain to me why GTA sells so well and why the PS2 and PS1 both one the console races they took part in. Being the weakest system when it came to graphics.

The gaming world itself is filled with endless amounts of proof that graphics do not matter.

Now, as for my thoughts.....A golf game would be AWESOME on the REV.
The sheer simplicity of it would be BEAUTIFUL.

Another point that alot of you aren't realizing: These is not a screens from the REV version. The game may look really good on the REV. Case and point: King Kong on the 360 compared to king kong on the Ps2.

That's is what I mean. If you can remember, I started a thread where I questioned this concept and most people, especially Shiek 84, critisized it. Now, look what he has to say:

That's sort of what I was going to get to but, time ran short when I posted.

People are hating on these screens, the same people that hated me for saying that grapics matter. Hypocrites at their finest.

The game does look awful. And I am not interested in it. But just because it looks awful doesn't mean it isn't fun. It just "looks" awful. That fact won't necessarily make me hate it (even though the chance of me buying this game is zero anyway), and I still believe that your eyes will adjust after about a half an hour. Graphics play only a very minor role in a game. That role is mostly to entice you to buy it in the first place. The visuals are a little underwhelming in that they truly look possible on Gamecube, but that:

A.) Doesn't really have anything to do with the game itself.
B.) Does not mean other Revolution games won't look better.
C.) Does not really affect the amount of fun you will have playing it.

It only matters to hardcore fanboys who make themselves feel secure by saying their system has better graphics. It also matters to reviewers who are looking for reasons to deduct points.

Okay see, I understand that now, but still, if they really didn't matter I wouldn't be concerned. For example, your brother or whatever needs an operation, you say money doesn't matter. When the bill comes you say, "What! That's too much money!" You wouldn't say that if you didn't care.

Ok, seriously. Those were horrible examples.

What you said about the opperation scenario was actually more comparable to trying to play a game without a controller. Graphics are not essentail to playing a game. Money is essentail for paying for food.

I'm talking about peoples replies. They said they didn't care and now, they hope the Revolution can do better. Just goes to show that, fanboyism leads you to stupidity. I mean, if they really meant what they said, I would expect replies about gameplay speculation, not how bad the graphics are.

How can you talk about gameplay that you know nothing about? How can you talk about anything other than graphics when all you have are screenshots? Sure most people hope the Revolution can do better than this, but has anyone said that they wouldn't buy the console if it couldn't? Has anyone said they won't buy this game just because of the way it looks?
