Viewtiful Joe- Reviews (IGN's first...)

I checked IGN to be pleasantly surprsied by a Viewtiful Joe review. I read it and I am consistently becoming more and more impressed with Joe. It scored far higher than I actually expected (9.5).

This game I believe is selling at a 40 dollar price point, can anyone verify that for me?

Although Capcom has shown itself to be the King of remakes and ports and rehashs, it seems to have all of that talent still, to make a great game.

I'm glad that IGN gave it this score, because I believe it deserves it. It still won't stop me from not buying it, though. I don't really want a game like that right now.

So what score exactly did they give it, i am very much not an insider....... i doubt i ever will be, damn IGN *shakes fist*

I think the $40 is only if you prorder it from Capcom themselves..... not in stores.... i already preordered it though.

I thought that was what he expected it to be.... Oh well i will blame it on a loose blame of damngling modifiers....

I hardley ever rent games, way too expensive around here especially if you know that your gonna wind up buying it, but try it first.

Re: Viewtiful Joe- Reviews (IGN's first...)

I don't see the point of renting this game, since I've played the demo over and over again, in fact I've problably played it around 13 times and I have to say it's one of the best side-scrollers I've playted for a looooooooooooooooong time, I'm definatelly going to buy it, its only flaw is that it's not an easy game, and I like games that give you a challenge, most games are just too easy nowadays... so yea i'll get it, as for the $40 price... I donno if that's the official price in stores but everywhere that ive seen it on the net it's cost that much so maybe...

Huh? ZeldaFreak++, you don't need to be an Insider to see the game's review.

Re: Viewtiful Joe- Reviews (IGN's first...)

To be honest, I dont care what IGN said. If they had disliked the game I would still be getting it.
It's one of those games that I see for the first time, and know that I will buy it in the future.
So far my judgement has been fairly good. I've not bought a game I didnt like in 5 years.
And I cant wait to get the damn thing.

But it's taking it's sweet time to get here (UK)...........

Yeah, I'm of the "reviews can help but not hurt opinion". I think its great its doing well, but I wont place my opinion solely on what these sites say, becasue they have made reviews Ive disagreed with in the past. Its always helpful to filter out the truth and facts from the opinion, and also to look for consistency across many reviews (in other words, they say the same general thing about gameplay, difficulty, graphics... etc...).

Re: Viewtiful Joe- Reviews (IGN's first...)

i knew from the first moment i played the demo of viewtiful joe that this thing would be kickbutt...

god, a side-scroller for the 3d era... wah... and a serious one at that...

i've always held such games as TMNT and Paper Mario near and dear to my heart, but this goes SO far beyond all of those...
