SW Empire at War

The demo is out for Star Wars: Empire at War, and its awsome.
Should be better then AOE 3, and has a huge number of variables in the combat.

Yeah, I downloaded this, and it is looking good. I liked it so much that I went to GameStop today and put my money down on it.

I just beat the demo on easy its great I think the space battles could have more aspects (if you know what I mean) but land is fabulous i loved them I also finished tutorials. The Skirmishes look the best.

Re: SW Empire at War

It's actually quite good, though I had a lot of difficulty with battles even on the easy setting. I like the pacing of the game - you only battle when you really want to, and it doesn't really force you to do anything. On the other hand, I found the combat kind of tedious, namely because I would on several occasions reach my unit cap and yet have absolutely no chance against the enemy. I shouldn't have to fight a battle three times just due to overwhelming odds.

All in all, though, it's a great improvement over the previous Star Wars RTS games.

The way to get more reinforcements is to capture more spawn points.

The Millenium Falcon was soo powerful. I'm glad they finally made the hero units the right strength.

Did anyone else's infantry get TORCHED by Bobba Fett?

I realise that, but I couldn't even get to another point because I was instantly swarmed by Imperials. Lousy ATATs.

Man, those things HURT.

Did you use the humans and Jawa's on the sides to help out?

Yeah, I did, but they had a habit of dying really, really quickly. I'll give it another shot tonight, maybe. I'm not amazingly interested in the game, but it's just nice to see Star Wars getting a good game outside of Rogue Squadron, for once.

Re: SW Empire at War

What? Star Wars has a ton of good games.

Look how many it had, just last year:

Republic Commando, Lego Star Wars, Revenge of the Sith (if you don't go in thinking its going to blow your socks off), and Battlefront 2.

Then we have the KOTOR series, which is as close to perfect as you can get.
