Re: LOL Nintendo's Remote Control Controller

If you're reffering to the Revolution controller, I'll say that I love the concept. Imagine the possibilities! You can use it as a knife, a sword, a fishing rod, a gun... The possibilities are unlimited!

Did somebody say Nintendo Fanboy?

How about No?

Honestly, you'll not find many people here who will agree with your opinion on the controller. I, for one, don't like the notion of having to be constantly physically swinging my arm for a slashing motion in the game. The same idea was true for the DS. If every single game made control based on the touch screen only, it would get more than tedious to play after awhile. Luckly, the majority of the games have normal controll with just a bit a touch controll features added into it. If the Revolution's controller is the same way, (that every game doesn't require you to use all of the features of the controller), I'll be happy. Do you know how many times you swing your sword in a Zelda game, for example? Do you know how tired your arms would get and how old it would get if you had to do a different motion for every single little swing? People who say something about how that will be sooo cool need to rethink it a bit. Most likely, you WON'T see developers using the features of the Revolution remote all the time, just because of this. Like I said, the same thing went and happened with the DS.

Re: LOL Nintendo's Remote Control Controller

You could always do something good to your body with the Revolution "remote" controller, if you constantly swing it around. Most gamers will have none of it, though.

Re: LOL Nintendo's Remote Control Controller

At first I thought it was the worst idea ever, but then I read reviews and stuff on it so I don't think it's the worst idea anymore.

Re: LOL Nintendo's Remote Control Controller

Considering how all of the top game developers (Yugi Naka, Guitar Hero guy, Hideo Kojima) who tryed it liked it, it's probably a pretty good idea.

OMG EXCERISE I'm GOING TO DIE!

I think the controler is once again going to setup nintendo for a differnt type of reign over the console market.

I believe that untill we get to use one first hand, we cannot offialy have any stance on it.

I agree, no one knows if it's going to be good or bad, which is why I don't know if I'm going to buy a Revolution yet.

I'm more curious about another thing... what does the acronym B.I.G. stand for?

Re: LOL Nintendo's Remote Control Controller

Well, I am rather apprehensive about the new control. I think it will be cool, but I will have to get my hands on it.

The only thing I am worried about is a seperation from traditional gaming. It is always OK to try something innovative, but Nintendo should not put all of its eggs in this new controller basket. Also, I believe many game developers will shy away from making games for the revolution becuase they feel thay have to implement the new controller.
Nintendo has does some good things with the DS, but there is not many killer games made for it since it has come out, perhaps becuase game developers haven't taken the system seriously. The best DS games are Nintendo made. I think the Revolution controller thing should be taken as a gimmick, not something serious or neccasary, and if it catches on, all the better, and if it doesn't, there is always traditional games.

Those are my rather disorganized thoughts.

That's funny. I don't remember hearing that Miyamoto thought the idea was stupid.

Re: LOL Nintendo's Remote Control Controller

According to one of Shiek's posts (which was made by another guy) pretty much every single 3-D party developer, both major and minor, like the thing. Some of them think its cool, others adore it, and a few have already begun making games to work with it. I myself think it'll be great if all of those companies find it to play so well, but I'll make a final decision once I try it out.

And if I don't like it (and I'm sure many others won't, either) then I'll just get the shell for it. That's what's cool about this all, Nintendo isn't forcing us to use the REmote unless we truly want to. Yeah, you may have to spend a couple more bucks for the shell, but I think we can all say for sure that we'd get a strong, reasonably priced product.

Re: LOL Nintendo's Remote Control Controller

Seems like an interesting idea and I feel it's worth a try. The controller it self is both ugly and beutiful while what it does is pretty sweet. But the look doesn't really matter to me, Nintendo never really has had the best looking systems. Plus it's not about how it looks..it's about how it works. Just thinking of the possibilities are endless and it boggles my mid just thinking about them. I just can't wait to try the Revolution.

If you want to see really ugly however...go take a look at the PS3 controller.

I have heard many people say(out of those who have tried the system) that when you play you don't have to swing your arm around in big motions. You can simply set you wrist on your knee and move your hand around...

Sounds easy enough to me :p

You just came into these forums to purposly make a stupid thread like this.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the Revolution controller, it'll give all those out of shape gamers (obviously like yourself) a very much needed workout. I'm just wondering how multiplayer would work, cause most chances are that you'd hit one of your friends, assuming you have any. But to Zelda + Rev controller, I think something was posted on the forums a littlw while ago about you maybe being able to use the new controller with bow and arrows!... Now that's interesting... or maybe slap Epona... that didn't sound right...
