Resident Evil: Deadly Silence (DS)

Capcom is releasing yet another installment of Resident Evil but this time the adventure is coming to the DS. The new Resident Evil (although RE has been recreated many times) incorporates some new suprising elements on the DS.Just like RE4 your knife will always be ready for slashing use on the touch screen. The touch screen is also going to be used for shaking off attacking zombies. The game is loaded with tons of extras and unlockables via completion of the game. The one thing I do have to say about REDS is that the graphics look dissapointing (it would have looked alot better on the PSP). I think hardcore RE fans will be pleased but others will just buy something with good graphics for the PSP. Whats your opinon on the game? Do you think it will have good sales, or will it be like everyother game Nintendo releases?(besides Zelda of course)

Re: Resident Evil: Deadly Silence (DS)

Oh, I'm definitely getting this game. I've been a fan of Resident Evil since the first one almost made me soil my self, with the zombie breaking out of the closet at Jill.

Not only am I interested in the idea of teaming up with my friends to go through the mansion, but I'm really looking forward to the new suprises that they may implement. Suprises such as new enemy places, traps, different puzzles, etc.

The coolest thing that will be in this classic game, will be the fact that zombies will not just be lame brains and stand around. They will actually follow you around, changing locations. So, I'm sure the "Run around the zombie"technique will not work out very good anymore.

So, I can truly say that this game will be great.

I am going to buy it because I am a big resident evil fan and I just love playing games with zombies in it.I would also buy it to see what resident evil graphics on a nintendo DS would be like.I have completed all resident evil games for GC and PS2 and would really like to see what the DS resident evil will be like.

Heck yeah I am buying this. The best game of all time in the palm of your hand, with multiplayer options? I'm really looking forward to this one.

I'm going to buy it but I dont exspect it to be that good. I'm sure it will prob be easy if you already know you already played one of the other two versions of #1.

Re: Resident Evil: Deadly Silence (DS)

I'm really looking forward to this games release. I've played most of the Resident Evil games, and am a pretty big fan of the series. Inviting a friend with you to the mansion sounds like an interesting concept, and I look forward to see what the reworked version of the game plays like (Hopefully, there will be Crimson Heads in this version, seeing as that was one of the main reasons the remake was so scary)

Anyway, I'm looking forward to this title, and I hope it releases fairly soon.

Re: Resident Evil: Deadly Silence (DS)

But don't the graphics look a little poor, even for DS standards?

Re: Resident Evil: Deadly Silence (DS)

Meh, I think they look fine. The graphics/lighting would be more refined if there would be any change to it, kinda like Mario 64 DS. Even so if the graphics are ten years old, you would have to look at it like a classic title.(Persay, like the original Mario Bros., but not as drastic)

A while back, I heard that it was suppose to be released later this year. I guess this will be yet another game that I will have to add to my "To do" list of games... : 3

Re: Resident Evil: Deadly Silence (DS)

You all have to remember that the screenshots of Resident Evil DS on sites like 1up are blown up versions, you will hardly be able to tell the difference between the Playstation and DS versions in terms of graphics. Besides, all of the pictures are stills. When the games in motion, the graphics will look better.

Re: Resident Evil: Deadly Silence (DS)

After watching the five gameplay movies on Gamespot, my thoughts on Deadly Silence are mixed.

From a technical point of view, it doesn't seem very impressive. Voice-acting sounds horrible, and the gun shots are way too quiet. The music is nice enough, same with enemy sound effects (zombie moans, crows' cries). Then the graphics are looking good for only a 64 bit system, but the blood is terrible, it's way too pixelated.

The rest of the game, though, looks fine right now. Camera angle's still static, but the shooting, exploring and now touch-screen knifing portions appear to be well executed.

I don't think I'll buy the game for a while, even after a price drop. As far as the Resident Evil series is concerned, I'm more interested right now in reading some of the novels (I know I know, I read crap) and finally picking up Zero. Besides that, I still wanna get a copy of Ikaruga, and I've gotta save up for Twilight Princess, as well as another DS game (I'm undecided between Metroid Hunters, Advanced Wars DS, or Castlevania DOS)
