Your Biggest Landslide Victory (or Defeat)

I'm surprised that I've never seen this before. The idea popped into my head yesterday, and I realized what a humorous discussion it could be.

Basically, how badly have you brutalized your opponent/s (or been) in a game?

It's taken me very little time to get a great feel for Mario Baseball after I bought it over the weekend, and Sunday Night I found myself beating my older brother 17 to 3. Then, last night, I beat him again, this time 14 to 0.

I'll have more, I'm sure I'll have a ton after I play Geist with a couple of my buddies

I was playing Shadow the Hedgehog with my little brother and I crushed him 30 - 0. He had played it more than I had.

Re: Your Biggest Landslide Victory (or Defeat)

I've had some pretty lopsided Super Smash Bros and Mario Kart matches in my favor. For example, in All-Cup Tour in Double Dash, I'm an automatic shoe in for first place, while a certain friend struggled match after match to get in the top 4. It's times like this when I can't refrain from laughing, and as you'd imagine, this really got on the other guy's nerves. Ironically, this person posts here (it's not Sizzlin), and I'd rather he didn't read this. But if he does, sorry Zach. I couldn't help it. To be fair, he's much better now. Now we'd always finish 1 and 2.

With Super Smash Brothers, we're all pretty equally matched. I still feel as if I'm the best, but only by a narrow margin. We have some pretty competitive matches. I'll win the majority, but Zach will have a match here and there where he just dominates everyone. When this happens, we all bust out in laughter. Good times.

Re: Your Biggest Landslide Victory (or Defeat)

I was playing Madden '06 last week with my friend, on All Madden difficulty and 2 minute quarters, and I found myself up 70-0. (He scored twice in the last 30 seconds to make it 70-15 :O)

On some old NBA live game I was playing my friend's neighbor and I ended up winning 123-32 in 2 minute quarters. I don't think I could ever score nearly that much ever again.

Re: Your Biggest Landslide Victory (or Defeat)

Soul Calibur 2. My brother absolutely creamed me at that game. We played at least 15 matches, and he beat me every time. Possibly the worst score I've ever gotten against someone. As for SSBM, I had raked up about 49 K.O.s, and my 2 best friends were still under 5...I guess that's not really saying much, though because they weren't very good.

Re: Your Biggest Landslide Victory (or Defeat)

My brother and I only redisocvered Super Smash Brothers Melee recently and that was when I pummeled him into a score of 25-2 in stock matches of two. I guess you could say that's kind of modest, but eh. My brother isn't terrible in it by any means, but I guess I just hold the edge somehow. So it wasn't very boring for me anyways to just crush him. He got frustrated enough and we agreed to have a match where I would take on two level nine A.I. characters and himself. I lost(yes, I still have some problems with level nine A.I., so you can tell I'm not that great myself), but I managed to deal a little more than twice the damage I sustained, so I guess I wasn't totally murdered. He kind of gave up for the moment, but he's been praticing and such. We're becoming more even anyways.

Re: Your Biggest Landslide Victory (or Defeat)

Wow. I've only got two, but they're ones to remember. I think.

1. I was playing my dad on Mario Kart: Double Dash, which he's pretty good at. Normally, I win merely because he doesn't know how to powerslide, so I get that 2 second advantage. But, we were playing on the first cup, and he defeated me. Horrendously. He waited until I started to slide, then he threw a Red Shell at me. Every time. So, he won each race by about... 10 seconds.

I cried myself to sleep that night.

2. SSBM. I was showing my friend from church how to play it (because he only has a PS2), and he was doing pretty good. I decided to go easy on him, and picked a really bad stage for me.

He won by 30 KOs. That's rounded down.

I cried myself to sleep that night also.

Re: Your Biggest Landslide Victory (or Defeat)

I just rememberes. My friend has the 3rd Naruto game for PS2 and out of 28 matches, he killed me 26 times! My record was 2-26! However, as he played against many people in a row, I saw 50 games... and he lost once because he decided to go easy on someone! He is insane! I bet he's playing right now... studying the characters... grrr...

Re: Your Biggest Landslide Victory (or Defeat)

My story is also SSBM related. I versed three of my friends to a three-to-one ten stock match on Final Destination. I was Link and they were Fox, Bowser, and Marth. I beat them with only losing two stock.

Re: Your Biggest Landslide Victory (or Defeat)

Halo2. One time I was playing just team snipers not too long ago. My team was destroyed about the score of 50-12. Wenever we got right out, they shot us. They were so good. I'm sure they werent hacking. But they were just the best players I had ever seen. They most of the times headshot me. It was just amazing. I'm pretty good on sniping too.
On Starcraft, it was 10 min, no rush. My ally was much better than me. He already had tearran Battlecrusiers. Unfortunately, these were one of my first games. My enemies were a protoss and a terran, they were on the right and left side of me. Suddenly, a fleet of battlecruisers attacked on my left side and a giant fleet of protoss carries came from the right. They quikly demolished me and my defences. One of the worst video game losses for me.

Mine was a regualr ssb match on the 64. I was using link (as usual) and had it set on three level 9 opponents (captain falcon, samus, fox)

my score= 11. (timer was on, remember) for two minutes.

their score was shockingly low....

i mightve had a better moment, but i cant remember.

Re: Your Biggest Landslide Victory (or Defeat)

^

If there's a landslide victory in a SSB match, it's most likely one of the combatents had no idea what they were doing. On high levels of play, a 6-2 win is considered a landslide victory.

A landslide victory....one that actually left me satisfied.....

Can't think of one. Usually when I get a landslide victory in a game I'm left utterly bored and end up forgetting the whole event.

A couple landslide defeats however, are somewhat hard to forget....

I was playing Team Duals on Foundation in Halo 2 the other night. (Team Duals is another one of Bungie's "Ingenious" gametypes. The fact that it was on foundation made it even worse. Foundation is a distance map. Dual combos are only at thier best tight quaters. On big maps it's not very useful. but if everyone has a dual combo on a open map, the game boils right down to who ever has the strongest combo. Lame.)

They beat us 24 to 50. Everytime we faced them, they had a more powerful combo than all of us. Call it luck.

Re: Your Biggest Landslide Victory (or Defeat)

This happened recently on Mario Kart DS. Me (Dry Bones in the 1337 tank) versus my mate (Shy Guy in whatever it is he drives), doing the entire Mushroom and Shell Cups in order. Me = 7 victories. My mate = none. (Wario managed to sneak one on Peach Circuit) Owned? Absolutely.

*EDIT*

There's also the TimeSplitters Future Perfect match where we (me, the mate mentioned previously and 2 CPUs) thrashed 8 CPU players 500-27 on Siberia. With crap guns.

Re: Your Biggest Landslide Victory (or Defeat)

A few years back me and three friends were playing Killer Instinct on the SNES, we were taking it in turns by whoever lost had to give another person a go. Anyway I was fairly confident that I'd win most of the fights seeing as the others had hardly played before but I was proved very wrong. One of my friends picked Spinal (a character that I used to class as 'my' character since I was good with him). So we started playing and she continued to own us all over and over, I tried every character there and still couldn't win.

The most embarrassing part was, I wasn't just being constantly owned by someone who had never played, I was being constantly owned by someone using my best fighter.
