The World's first 1D game (That I know of)
Brought to you by KousouGames. The Games of Dreams.
KousouGames -> Downloads -> Programs -> Dimension. http://www.kousougames.co.uk/stuff/Dimension.zip This is a simple 1D remake of pong, however it is surprisingly fun. Colour is an important factor here, as you change to the same colour of the 'ball' to hit it. If you don't then you miss. Use the arrow keys to change colour, the numberpad keys for the right paddle. So, what do you think? Constructive Critisicm please.

Um im not totally sure on this, but how do you figure it is one dimensional?
Regardless of the thinless of the lines, it still contains length and width. And if you mean that you can't move up or down, I don't think this is the first game to do that. Please explain.

Re: The World's first 1D game (That I know of)
I played 1D Tetris once. It's like normal Tetris, but only 1 square wide. Lamest game ever.
Games should be kept to a minimum of 7 dimensions. Anything less than that is pathetic.

Oh well, it was just a quick thing my cousin made. You have to try things out, otherwise you wouldn't know if it worked. Without risky moves, such as that that gaming industry would never go anywhere. I guess this would be better as a mini game, included with a bigger game.

Oh, snap!
That has got to be the best technology I've ever seen! Screw Gears of War, this is even better!

Uh... no thanks. With more and more games coming out with almost as beautiful graphics as those in Half-Life 2 (almost, it hasn't been beaten yet), I don't think your cousin's 10-minute project is going to revolutionize gaming. Sorry, but this game phfayils.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure that 1D is a line. Well, I looked on Wikipedia, and this is all I could find. ![]() And it's accompiying text: "Degrees of Freedom (from point to tesseract or from 0 to 4 of spatial dimensions)" Right, we weren't trying to be revolutionary. We were'nt trying to turn gaming in a new direction. We were'nt trying to compete with Half Life 2. We were just seeing if people liked the game. It is obvious that people don't, and therefore, we will never try to do something in 1 dimension again. Although I have seen people who do like it...
