Guitar Hero

Just wondering if any of you have heard of or played guitar hero?

I played it for a long time on thanksgiving at my cousins house, and I have to tell you that once you start it it hard to stop. That has got to be one of that most addicting games that I have played in a long time. I only got up to medium on the setting and that was hard enough, and I did try the hard setting a couple of times and bombed on it. This game is really a challenge even for someone like me that playes guitar a lot, but still I think that it is a great game.

Well I was just wondering what all of you think about that game?

Re: Guitar Hero

I've seen this game in EGM, Game Informer, and around the net. I had never really heard of it until it had alredy come out. I was quite surprised to see how well it was doing. It got a gold rating in EGM, and fairly awesome ratings all around the internet. It seems like a rather concept for a game, but with a twist: you actually hold the guitar that you are "playing".

The game looks like it has potential, and I'd like to try it out sometime. Maybe this is a little hint as to how well the Revolution will be recieved...

Yeah actually getting to play with the guitar as your controller is just an ingenius idea that the designers of the game had. FYI you can't actually buy that game without that guitar and they want like $20 for it, they just called it a bundle pack and are selling it for $70 everywhere. Just that fact that you get to use that guitar brings a whole new lever to the playing feild, and just makes that game all the much better.

As for your thought about that revolution controller I don't think that it will have anything to do with it, but in terms of being simlilar I guess there are a few likenesses.

Re: Guitar Hero

I think I've heard of it in Guitar Hero. They cited a game about a boy and a guitar that nobody bought and as a result, this cost them a sequel. Could be the wrong one-- I thought I saw "Gitarro Man" or something for a minute, but meh. Sounds like a cool concept regardless.

Re: Guitar Hero

I've never heard of Guitar Hero. But I've heard rave reviews for a game called "Gitarro Man". Are they the same game? Anyway, the game looks interesting. It's a cool concept.

Well I know that when I first saw my cousin playing guitar hero I thought to myself, "man this is stupid". But I started to play it and then I changed my opioion on the spot, that game is awesome IMO.

I have never heard of gitarro man, and no it is not that same game. At least not to my knowledge.

Re: Guitar Hero

Well, I did a little search. Gitaroo Man was released in '01 Guitar Hero just a few weeks ago. Logic dictates its not the same game. Nice how it is fairly recent.

Well that is good to know, I think that my cousin was saying that that same company that put out guitar hero put out a differant game some time ago and it was really popular in the reveiws but the sales for the game just tanks hardcore so Gitaroo man just might be that game.

Well with yesterday being black friday and that big sale day of the year I was really hoping to get a good deal on that game but no dice, I guess I will just have to get it for the same price as everyone else.

Koei/Inis made Gitaroo Man. Harmonix Music Systems made Guitar Hero. Harmonix also made the Karaoke Revolution series, EyeToy: AntiGrav, Amplitude, and Frequency. *shrug*

Re: Guitar Hero

I've never played guitar hero, but I am a big fan of the arcade game guitar freaks (I think they play the same) I play mostly on advanced, but I can beat quite a few extreme songs.

note: Guitar freaks has three buttons on the arm, I heard guitar hero has five, is that true?

Hmm I didn't know that guitar freaks only had three buttons on the fret board, and to anwser your question yes there are 5 buttons on the fret board. You use 3 buttons on easy, 4 on medium and hard, and all five on expert which is damn near impossible.

Re: Guitar Hero

Think this can live up to the awesomeness that is Gitaroo Man?

Re: Guitar Hero

Gitaroo man was great, but it plays differently. It would be like comparing it to DDR or beat mania. I haven't played gitaroo man in a while, I've just given up ever S-ing sanbone trio, or Gregorio III on master's play. I did S Zowie though, that was annoying.
