The only reason I was exited is because it was the first Next-Gen Gaming System. I know Xbox sucks.

Re: X-Box 360 Zero Hour Launch Party

The points in that article... some make a decent point, but others are just stupid. "It doesn't have Zelda! Or Metroid! Or Super Smash Brothers!"

No ****, we all knew that. The 360 rocks.

Wow dude, can you read? IGN said SEVERAL times that they were NOT bashing the 360 with that article. Infact, they made a similar article talking about how the reccomend not wasting time and buying a 360. The article was simply an open-minded POV.

KEEP YOUR BLOODY BASHING COMMENTS TO YOUR BLOODY SELVES.

Australia and PAL nations are still yet to touch its sleek white controller.. I really want to see how it renders its games =)

Do you think the Gamecube article writers at IGN would promote the 360?

The controller is supposed to set a new standard. Well, the PS2's sort of did that. With its crankyness and hurting thumbs, yeah.

You can grab the Wired version of the 360's controller for use with your PC. It's USB, and you can get the drivers straight from Windows Update.

Re: X-Box 360 Zero Hour Launch Party

One way or another, the various bodies at IGN regularly take playful jabs at one another. They also have fun stirring up controversy between them. Rarely should this be taken seriously.

One example would be the sales figures posted after the Christmas following the launch of both the Xbox and Gamecube. Both IGN Cube and IGN Xbox picked up the exact same figures, and quoted the exact same press releases. However, they also both managed to come to completely opposite conclusions: Based on how they twisted and balanced figures, IGN Xbox claimed more Xboxes had been sold, and IGN Cube claimed more Gamecubes had been sold. A lot of controversy arose as a result, and no doubt it did good things for IGN's ad revenue.

When I mentioned "IGN's facetious anti-Xbox 360 article" to a friend of mine, his response was "Oh, you mean their funny pro-Revolution article?" Which is really the heart of the issue: It isn't an article against the 360 so much as an article pro-Revolution.

The 360's power supply is pretty huge: It's almost exactly twice as long as the Gamecube power supply (same height, width). That said, I'm not sure when size and weight became issues. Funny that IGN references Apple as a style guide for the Revolution, though: The second biggest external power supply in my house next to the 360's is my Mac Mini's.

The controller's pretty sweet. Fixes most of the problems I had with previous-generation controllers on all consoles, and I love the new quick access to Xbox Live. The new shoulder buttons are pretty rocking too.
