Link returning to SC?

For future Soul Calibur titles, would you like the idea of Link rejoining the SC roster? I think he played very well in SC2, and fitted in very well with the other characters. His story was a lil awkward though, but atleast it was interesting.

One thing I enjoyed about Link in SC2, was his character design. Most people would consider this to be the worst part of Link, mainly because of his facial looks. I disagree... I've "somewhat always pictured" Link looking like that in a nicely 3D renderred game. Detail in OOT and MM wasn't clear enough for me, but when I saw Link in SC2, I was amazed by his looks. It was how I always imagined him in full 3D. The somewhat-evil eyes, the determined face, pure art right there.

Hopefully Namco will decide to add Link once again in future SC titles, perhaps including Link from TP instead of the classes OOT one we've been getting in SSB and SC.

There is a untitled Namco Fighter in production for next gen systems. I think its obvious its Soul Calibur 4 and I doubt it will be on the Revoultion so my guess is we won't see Link again soon. IGN does have it slated for all 3 systems but the offical words is just 'next gen', so there is hope. Keep your fingers crossed.

Why would you doubt it'd be for Revolution?

Because of the revolution's controller, plus the fact that they kept SC3 off of the Gamecube. The revolution's controller doesn't really look like the fighting game kind, as it is for more casual gamers. I doubt that casual gamers will get SC4 and be shouting to eachother "Huahahaha, I just wasted you when you were using that girl I hit you as Link ahahahhaha!"

Not to mention that they skipped the Gamecube with SC3, which makes no real sense.

Your arguement is very flawed. First off, you have no idea how the revo controller works. Nobody does. It may be the best thing to ever happen to fighting games.

Secondly, namco explained countless times why SC3 is ps2 exclusive. Look for it.


I would like to see the guest characters return. It'd be a shame to let thier movelists go to waste.

We don't know everything about the Rev controller yet. Just because of the way it works you think it won't play SC4? If that's the case, the Revolution has already planned its funeral. If your idea of 3rd party games not making it to the Rev because of the controller, how's the system gonna be a success??? Think of that wise-guy.

Nintendo's developped attachment for the REmote, so certain games or genres will be simpler to play... so don't speak like you know all about the Rev.

As for SC3 skipping the cube. Are you blind, or just stupid? Namco purposely made SC3 a PS2 exclusive to see how well the series can do on a single platform.

Don't turn a simple post into a flame war. I never said I knew everything about the rev remote, just that it doesn't look like the kind for fighting games to me. That is my opinion, so don't jump to conclusions. Also, calling somebody stupid isn't exactly a way to prove your own intelligence.

Not just that, but Namco are going back to where the series started back on home consoles. Soul Blade anyone, on the PS1? Yeah, Seigfried f'n owns.

It would be awesome for Link to return to Soul Calibur. But if you
ask me, it's unlikely. The only way for Link to return, is if Soul Calibur
was on a Nintendo console and seeing as Namco made Soul Calibur 3
an exclusive PS2 title, we may not see Soul Calibur returning to a Nintendo
console, which, in turn will prevent Link from returning. Hopefully, the PS2
exclusive method will not develop into a pattern. Well, I am praying.

Depending on how successful the Revolution will be, Nintendo may see
another Soul Calibur title.

Maybe SC 4 will be a Rev exclusive... then Namco would use link probably and I'm sure that if it was only for the rev then they'd spend a bit more time making everything fit the controller nicely... maybe not. I could just be crazy.

You say this like its coming up. SC3 has been out for sometime now. Look up my old topic on it for more info, I don't feel like getting into the debate again.

So what if SC wasn't on GC... as mentioned it was purposely put to the PS2 to test slaes exclusively on 1 single system. Whether Namco will continue this is unknown, but they have to consider how much SC2 sold with Link being a guest character. It horribly outsold SC2 compared to the other consoles.

As for the other guy, I wasn't tryin 2 start a flamewar, I was statting the obvious...

belive it or not i only got SC2 because lnk was on it.

How is that obvious? I don't think that everybody knows all the reasons why SC3 was on the PS2 and not the GC.
