Final fantasy?

For not so long ago, I saw the Final Fantasy Movie.

I Have only Played Final Fantasy 1-2 and 3.

So, to the point. Do you Think there is a conection between the movie and the games. Even if it not make any sence.... And if it were, what could be the reasons, why it became like it become, (In other words, how can this fit?)???

What do you think??.


My reasons??.-

1: The Ghost Aliens were creature of the planet the final fantasy games, where located. But, to the end. The planet got destroyed And came to this world, in 2060??(If I remember it right)...

2: Or. It just Ghost Aliens that comes from a distant unknow planet. But later in "our" world. It will be after many ages, like the Final fantasy games. (And the Ghost creature, bacames alive, and become the monsters and such). And the Old world is forgotten..

3: Or, there is no conection between the games, and the movie..

I've seen alittle of Spirits Within(I assume you are talking about that movie) and it really doesn't relate to the main games at all. But, I'm a FF newb, so don't take this info too seriously.

The Final Fantasy games all took place in seperate worlds. And no. The movie and games aren't connected.

Mr. Wonderful is 100% correct. I'm afraid that even theorising would be a waste of time.

Save for FFX and FFX-2, but that was a special case of the prior being very popular, I think. But yes, for the most part, they aren't interconnected at all. One of their few consistent things would be like the reoccuring Cid, Wedge, and Vick characters(airship too). But even then, its just their names.

Well I am guessing it all depends on what movie you are talking about. There are at least two movies, Spirits within and FFVII- Advent Children. Now spirits within really didnt have anything to do with the games at all if I remember correctly, but I know that Advent Children sure was. I truly didnt understand it unfortunately because I have never played FFVII but it was based on a game. It was pretty cool actually, especially the fight against Sephiroth (sp?). But anyways...it is depending on what movie you were talking about, but from what you described you were talking about Spirits Within...which has no connection at all, other thanb the name of the movie of course.

FF10 and FF10 2 aren't the only FF games that have to do with eachother. Final Fantasy: Dirge of Cerberus (still in production) is a game that takes place in the FF7 universe, and is set a few years after the events of Adven Children.

Also, FF Tactics and FF Tactics Advance as well as FF12 may be related. All three of those games take place in a place called Ivalice.

Let's not forget Before Crisis and the upcoming Crisis Core, they're both based in the FFVII universe too. Not to mention the mysterious "end of the FFVII Compliation game" that Nomura mentioned.
Anyway, the point is that no FF game is connected to Spirits Within. Neither in story nor substance.
