What changes do you expect from Halo 3? (online wise)
Ok, first off, I'd like to say that altough I do enjoy this game, it has quite possibly the worst online community known to man. From a technical and socail standpoint. It is way to easy to cheat in what's supposed to be the most important release for the xbox.
Well, ok, that's honestly because Bungie sucks and wasted tons of development time, but that's beside the point! I don't think "rushed" is the correct term to describe Halo 2. I think "neglected" is more like it. This shows in the fact that there is no real optimatch feature. You still get back retarded game types that Bungie obviously didn't take the time to declare balanced. Shotgun CTF has to be the worst idea ever. Well, besides swords and plasma war. And why in god's name are nearly ALL the matches I get back centered on the ****ing BATTLE RIFLE. I hate that weapon; it's too good, there should be no best weapon. And the damn cheaters! Ok, seriously, somebody PLEASE explain this to me.....what do people have to gain by doing this? If they win, what does that do for them? Nothing? Then why do certains morons feel like they have to go through so much trouble just to win in a video game!? Speaking of morons, why is it so hard to find a good sport? I mean, seeing as this is a video game. And only that. Why do so many freaking people take this game so seriously? "Man, you beat me because of lag!" (altough the signal stays green the entire match) Some of you know how I am, and more than likely already concluded that I love making fun of people like this with my awesome powers of logic. That's true. But running into a dumbass that get's mad at you for using the shotgun (and keeps trying to engage you at close range) every game gets really tiresome. I had one chick get mad at me for stealing her kills in Rumple pit. An every man for himself game type. Kill stealing. Ok, I wouldn't really have that big of a problem with the idiots if Bungie had've just cared enough to find an effective way to keep them from cheating. More freedom and a better way to eliminate cheating. That's what I want from Halo 3. You? Perhaps Bungie will do to halo 3 what should've been done to Halo 2. (Really want that ATV)

And anyway, as long as a game is popular, there are going to be cheaters. The only way Halo 3 will be hack free is if it completely sucks.

Re: What changes do you expect from Halo 3? (online wise)
I don't agree with that. I've played several online games that were quite popular and Halo had the most cheaters and most options for cheaters. Wait, no, I'm mostly complaining about the amount of people getting away with cheating. It's crazy.
It's the only game I've seen in which you can mod AND standby. Also, take note that paches to stop modding weren't made until the game was released. Meaning that bungie failed to even think about the possibility while in prodcution. Technically, as far as overall setup goes, Halo 2 online feels really half-assed do to certain things like this. There's no real matchmade optimatch, which is crazy, every other XBL game I've played had this, why not the biggest one of them all?

Not "better" FANCIER, they'll tweak the looks of the current ones add one or two new ones... but they won't be "better" no increase in firepower or if it is increased in firepower it'll be slow or something to balance it. It's logical that weapons won't change much at all, especially since this game follows a linear story. Also, I agree with you Tigerboi, the cheating is unnecesary and the whining is stupid, it's just a game and I'm tired of hearing 12 years crying about me beating them... If they're sore losers they shouldn't be playing at all. (I won't even get into the fact that 12 year-olds shouldn't be playing an M-Rated game.) That is all. "L"Chupacabras |

Re: What changes do you expect from Halo 3? (online wise)
Halo 2's online play would be a lot more balanced if the internet simply didn't suck by nature. I mean that technically - Best ping to the host box has a noticeable advantage in fights that come down to milliseconds, which is how a majority of engagements in Halo 2 go down. This is especially apparent with the host itself, who obviously has a 0ms ping since the game is on their machine. Everything they do happens instantaneously, while everything the other players do register tens or hundreds of milliseconds later. Hence obnoxious but truthful complaints like "host shotgun."

i had some wonderufl times on halo for x-box live. i mean, yeah it had its mistakes, but what can you do? when technology progresses, so does the number of problems... i would say modding is pretty cheap too. hehe i also liked to "super jump". that was awesome. anyways, yeah you hav some good ideas and for the most part i agree.

Oh, and we can't forget getting assasinated by the host when he's RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU WITH HIS BACK FACING YOU. Or hitting him with a melee attack that doesn't recieve.
