Re: Official Wii/Friend Code Thread

Oh sorry, may last post was pretty stupid. :/
I didn't bother to read the first post, shame on me. Oh well, I have now.

So again, I'm getting it for Christmas. I'm still a bit confused with the whole thing though.
I'm hoping to get a router, but I might not be able to get one.
I'll just wait 'till I get the game, then check everything out from there.

Expect my friend codes for both MK and AC in 4 days. I'll go on AC first since I want to hone my skills on MK before I race anybody.
I agree,
I think being able to see the sky on the top screen is great as you can see the moon pass by, the clouds drifting away and watch the sunset. It just makes it seem time is really flowing more and adds a sence of calmness to the game.

I like the DS AC more than the GC one, but I must say that I do miss the NES games from the GC animal crossing,
then again all the new fetures on the DS one more than makes up for that loss.

As soon as you get your friend codes up on here, I'll add you!
Oh and Necco I've added you too .

Re: Official Wii/Friend Code Thread

And here begins the massive influx of friend code posts. Keep 'em coming! I'll be on the ball, and trying to make sure I add everyone to the front page as well as my own DS. If a lot of people start posting there is a chance that I will miss someone. If you post your friend code for any game and you notice it is not on the front page for a while, let me know. You can either let me know in this thread or through PMs.

All friend codes are almost always up within the day they are posted.

Wait a second, do you need to put in the person's name/town when adding them to your actual DS in Animal Crossing? If that is needed I can start adding that to the main page as well, if not I'm going to leave it as is.

Re: Official Wii/Friend Code Thread

I know on mario kart your name isnt needed, but Im not to sure on animal Crossing, You have the option to change the name and town whenever so I guess the name and town name input are there just so you know who they are.
I just added them under 'Unknown' for now, and will update it later if it is needed

Re: Official Wii/Friend Code Thread

Merry Christmas everyone. I just got Mario Kart and I have a connection in my house but it asks for my WEP key but I don't know it. Do you make one up or do you use one your router gives you and where can you find your WEP key? Thanks for anyone who can help me.

Re: Official Wii/Friend Code Thread

It really sholdn't, but if it does, type your main IP address (found on the back of your router) into the url bar. It will ask for a name and password (which is also provided on the back of the router). When you are there, make sure thay your WEP (Wired Equivical Privicy) is set to just WEP, NOT WPA-PSK. Than it should tell you your WEP, if not, shut the WEP off, don't worry, Windows includes automatic Wireless Encryption, so your fine. For my router I had to shutthe WEP off so my DS can access it.

Another thing, what router do you have, check here to see how it is supported (like mine is one star, but I shut the WEP off so its fine.)

http://www.nintendowifi.com/customer...rtedRouters.do

Also, you can call nintendo at 1800-NINTNEDO, or go to http://www.nintendowifi.com/consumer...techSupport.do for some more technical support.

Thank you for choiceing Nintendo wifi, was there anything I could do to make your calling experiance better?

Ugh! None of this makes sense. How do you connect? The website says the connectivity is built into your DS, but it also says you'll have to connect through a router. Does that mean I'll have to hook it up to my computer? And I don't have a broadband connection, I have Dail-Up.

Nintendo wifi is not compatable with dial-up. Only DSL and cable are able to set-up a wireless access point for the DS to wirelessly connect to. Like I have a router with wifi for laptops, and the DS connects to that, and my friend bought a Nintendo wifi connector, a little thing that plugs into a your USB and creats a wireless access point.

Pyroth, your WEP isn't on the back of your router, the IP address is. SHould be in the form of "xxx.xxx.xx" where the x's are number, for example, mine is 192.162.01, so i type that in my internet browser and a pop-up comes up saying to login. I type in "admin", and the password is "password", as it says on the back of my router. I can than alter the settings of my wireless router, includeing WEP and other things.

If that doesnt work, go to "start" (windows xp that is), "connect to", "show all connections", and double click the ones that say connected. ONe of them should come up with two tabs, a "General", and a "support". Click the support and your IP address will show up, along with other things that can help you manually connect to your wireless. The one that you want is called "Default Gateway".

Type whatever the default gateway is into your address bar (preferablly on Internet Explorer, Firefox might block it), and when it asks you to login, try to enter for the username "admin", and for the password, "password". Again, if this doens't work, go to www.nintendowifi.com and get support. Call nintendo, they will know what to do better than me!

You connect through a wireless router, meaning no cables attached. Simply in most routers, you go to the online options and on one profile, search for a connection. If you get one, you'll be asked if you want to save the connection. Hit yes and you should be realy to go. In other rare cases, you'll have to imput your router's IP adress or something like that. Just read the directions you recieve in your game, since those directions are pretty easy to follow.

Oh, and you can't play on Dial-Up or anything less than DSL. My internet's just a tad bit slower than DSL and I can't play from my house either. Looks like you're stuck playing at McDonalds or some other hot spot.
