I have Mario Kart, and I didn't stop playing 'til my battery ran out. It is so freakin' awesome! Haven't got my Wi-Fi to work yet, I have to stop letting my step-dad choose computer hardware. I'ma gonna buy a Nintendo USB thing though, so I'll verse y'all soon. Can you get a Nintendo USB thingie at EB Games or something, or only from the website?

You can only get it from the web page at this point, it will be released next year in stores. You really don't need it, it is a waist of 35 bucks. It is very simple to set up, don't waist the money.

Ok, I changed it on the front page as well as my DS.

Mmmm, that's definitly not gonna work. The reason being that you cannot contact anyone when you're actually on Nintendo's WFC. The only way you can race eachother is if you exchange eachother's codes. You've already got mine so I need yours. Post it, and I'll add you to my DS as well as the front page for anyone to see.

THREAD HAS BEEN STUCK AS THE OFFICIAL... BLAH BLAH BLAH.

I don't have a friend code yet. Once I have some *money* I'll pick up Cart DS. IF I get some money. As far as I know, it's already spent... what a shame.
Really?! Awesome, thanks a lot. It'll help to have this stickied for the most part. Easy access for anyone to post their codes. I look forward to playing you by the way...

This sucks so much: I will most likely not be able to play online this entire weekend. My mom wont tell me the password for the router because she thinks I'll break it or something. SO STUPID. JUST LET ME PLAY FOR GODS SAKE.

I"m getting Mario Kart DS for Chanucka, jsut I did some reshearch and it said my wireless router is hardly compatible with the Ds, which sucks BIG TIME. If I get this game, and I can't go wi-fi in my house, I will be really pissed, REALLY.

Re: Official Wii/Friend Code Thread

Can you delete your friends? I tried to edit and or delete NES Speedmaster and I cant find out how. Under options in friends there is an erase but that just clears the record between you and that person. How do I edit or delete it? Also what does the lock on the name do?

Re: Official Wii/Friend Code Thread

nope, you can erase the friend in the options menu.
And the lock prevents you from deleting that person on accident, also, if you have alot of friends, and alot of them are on at the same time... then if the friend is locked, s/he has a higher chance of being chosen to race agianst.

Yeah....Definately not today. I have a Funeral to go to. Between that, working out, things I need to do around the house, and homework, it isn't gonna happen today.

Re: Official Wii/Friend Code Thread

So funny story. I was at Shiek 84's house last night after playing a little versus mode between me, him, and my brother. So yeah, it was just me and Shiek and we were playing Mario Kart (as if you didn't know). We really wanted to play online but he didn't have a router at his house. I decided to search for an access point anyways, and we got one! The problem was...it was locked, therefore we weren't able to steal the connection from his neighbor .

We decided to experiment a little. We were basiclly wandering around outside at 10 at night trying to find access points. To my surprise we found at least 15 different ones, none of which were unlocked. We had one last option: go down to our local McDonalds and try to get a connection without actually going in (it was closing for the night).

As we approuched it we found an access point called linksys, which was unlocked and playable. The thing is...I don't think it was from McDonalds because Linksys is the name of a router company, I would think that McDonalds would be using something of there own more similar to a hotspot. Anyways, we didn't care whos access point it was, we just wanted to play a little Mario Kart Online. And we did. We sat in a nasty back ally across from McDonalds. It was somewhere aroudn 40 degrees and we were frezzing our asses off. But hey, Shiek got to experience his first online match, and I got to play online for the first time this weekend!

Moral of the story: Wander the streets at night to pirate random access points.

Wow, sounds like fun.

Holy geez! 40 degrees? It's not even that cold up in Canada yet!

You know I ish I had a DS, but I'm just too lazy to get the money.

Maybe when my website starts making some money I'll get one.

Re: Official Wii/Friend Code Thread

My friend code is

493980
956983

I won't be online yet, as I don't have a router. My only online experience was in the back alley of some dry cleaning place at 10:30 at night. I was owned by everyone I faced, both because I haven't gotten a feel for the game yet, and because my fingers were numb from the sub 40 degree weather. The conditions were far from optimal! How we got a connection there, I do not know. We were way too far away from McDonalds . . .

The DS is a truly amazing system. Like Sizzlin said, we were just walking down the block and tapping into all the residents wireless connections. It was quite interesting. We could see the names of the people who those connections belonged to. Pirating other people's wireless connections was probably more fun than the online play itself (which is already great).

Mario Kart DS is phenominal. It is without a doubt the best one yet, probably the best DS game to this point, and, in my opinion, should be considered for Game of the Year. But we all know that to be game of the year, a game must be epic, edgy, lengthy, and so on. Mario Kart obviously doesn't fit the criterion.

I just wish the DS was a little stronger. The graphics are fine, great even. However, 8 player online, having all of the tracks available, and being able to drag your items would have made the online play much more alluring. Taking these things out distrupts the perfect balance a little bit, but the experience is still great. LAN is better, but who's going to be able to get 8 people together?

Its up there but Resident Evil 4 still gets my vote.

They took that out for multiplayer on purpose because everyone would just get one and hold on to it. If you noticed you also can't get the 3 turtle shell sheilds that go around you either.

Untrue. The power of the DS is not able to handle a lot of objects moving online while keeping the graphic quality and framerate high. Dragging your items enhances the strategy. They kept it in LAN play, didn't they?

This is also why only 20 of the 32 tracks are available online. The other 12 are too graphic intensive for the DS. It is also why you are limited to 4 people.

If the DS was a little bit more powerful (maybe a lot, I don't know), all those things would be in there.

LAN play has alot more bandwidth then internet play, LAN play you are next to each with a higher frequency, yes they could of added those extra courses and stuff but how many people have an 8MB connection to power the internet play, so therefore, the power of the DS can power alot of objects moving, it is just that Nintendo kept them out for you didn't have to upgrade to a higher internet connection to play a couple more courses and a few items.

And with that said, I have no idea what I was talking about and if that is even true.

But it is close!

And it is an legit explanation!
