Gack! Pokemon Remakes

http://www.gamespot.com/gba/rpg/poke...s_6075120.html

Well. Now we know how nintendo is planning to milk more money out of the franchise to get the original pokemon into Ruby and Sapphire. Ive already bought the original Pkmn twice, ill have to wait to see how they do it until i decide. Since its a potential trip down memory lane, im still leaving a small consideration of buying it.

Re: Gack! Pokemon Remakes

eh, pokemon was a one time thing, it was popular when i was in 4th and 5th grade and then died out, lol i still have all my pokemon cards and games. but the pokemon trading card game was pretty cool when you actually think about it and actually play it right.

Re: Gack! Pokemon Remakes

The games were good for a time, but after Gold/Silver, they sort of lost their touch. They have tried to add in all these new features, but none of them actually have any real use in the game. Your coolness will not make you beat the Elite Four any more easily.

A full-on Gamecube version would be awesome, but it doesn't seem like it's going to happen.

Re: Gack! Pokemon Remakes

Pokémon has gone down hill since yellow. I think that the original idea was great but they can't take the franchise to th end of the earth. It is only expected that they would remake Ruby and Sahpire though, they have with all the other versions.

Re: Gack! Pokemon Remakes

Honestly, Gold and Silver were the peak. You didn't have any compromises in the total pokemon selection, and they played like two games in one.

Ruby and Sapphire are decent games, but short, easy, and I can't help but dislike the smaller pokemon selection.

I suppose that justifies the remakes: It'll add in a handful of pokemon missing from the current GBA selection.

Re: Gack! Pokemon Remakes

Ruby and Sapphire weree ok, but they made things a little too complicated. Just too many useless things; ie beauty contests. G&S were definately the top, but I liked Crystal too, the option of playing as a girl is really the only difference I liked though.
You have to wonder though, if there will be a 3rd game in the R&S saga. Think about it:

Blue~Red released together----then Yellow
Gold~Silver released together--then Crystal
Ruby~Sapphire released together---??? Diamond perhaps?
I dunno, its just speculation.

Re: Gack! Pokemon Remakes

Pokémon Green was released in Japan alongside Pokémon Red, it's nothing special at all... Just the Japanese Blue version. I think some animations and sprites were different, though.

And then, it seems, Fire Red, Leaf Green, then Water Blue.

Re: Gack! Pokemon Remakes

There is way too much Pokemon stuff going on for me. The games got old after the cards and the TV shows and the movies got old. And that was around gold and silver...well at least for me.

Re: Gack! Pokemon Remakes

Does anybody belive that these games will be any decent? It could go either way IMO. Are they still making a 3D Pokemon RPG on the GCN? I don't think that would suit the series at all . Still it might be good.

The original pokemon games were awesome, sure they aren't as good anymore but they are still worth a play (mostly). The TGC on the GB wasn't too shabby.

Re: Gack! Pokemon Remakes

I think ALL Pokémon games are good. I'll buy Leaf Green, most likely. A green Pokémon game would be awesome.

Green had some sprites that were different, but aside from that, it was the same. I don't know why they released Blue instead, though.

Re: Gack! Pokemon Remakes

Because Green didn't have very good sales in Japan. They thought it might not here either.

Re: Gack! Pokemon Remakes

I have always despised Pokemon. Ever since I first heard of it in (I believe) 1998. I just thought it got so... repetitive (as most turn-based RPG's).

Ahhhh! Please, Nintendo, drop Pokemon! It's old, nobody likes it, case closed.

Re: Gack! Pokemon Remakes

Apparently you're wrong, ZF*. My girlfriend still loves Pikachu, I mean she adores the damn thing, as do a million other crazed fan girls in Japan. Although the craze has relatively died down, one person can't speak for everyone, some people still enjoy the games, your opinion can't be forced on all living beings.

I admit, I don't love the games that much anymore, however I do enjoy the occasional play through of Gold/Silver.

Re: Gack! Pokemon Remakes

I think some people are just biased or still into the Pokemon are for Babies thing. I still think Pokemon's a good game, the problem was when they took the merchandising too far. As of now, things have toned down and are all good. I'd like to see a remake of Pokemon Blue (which is what it will be in the US, Japan has green, they get green leaf, US has blue, we get Blue water). I wanna raise a Bulbasaur that can learn Synthesis and Sunny Day and stuff (I'm not too keen on all of the R+S attacks, so I'll use G+S for examples).
