Star Wars Games

I've been thinking about getting a Star Wars game for a long time. But I don't know which ones are bad and which are good. OR where they fit into the storyline. Could someone please tell me of the good ones and where they are in the storyline?

After that this can just be a thread to chat about the games.

Re: Star Wars Games

I suggest Battle Front 2, it doesn't matter if you haven't play number one cause there really isn't much a storyline, you play a soldier in the star wars wars and you go out and shoot your enemies and take control of their territory. And in Battle Front 2 you can fly in space! And once you get a certain number of kills you get to play as a Jedi! There are vehicles and different classes to choose from and it just plain rocks.

Re: Star Wars Games

If you are a true Star Wars fan then I reccomend Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) and KOTOR II. Great RPG's. They action is real time but the way you actually fight is sort of turn based. You dont press a button rapidly to hit rapidly. You choose what you want to do (force power, flurry, normal attack etc.) and a dice system indicates your turn and your resistence to the openents attacks. The KOTOR'S take place roughly 5000 years before the trilogys i beleive. Great games, and KOTOR'S only 20 Bucks!!

Re: Star Wars Games

DO as the Oracle told you and buy KOTOR, I have beaten both twice and together I have gotten about 90 hours of game play in my six games.

Re: Star Wars Games

KOTOR II was terrible, the story makes almost no sense even if you've played KOTOR 1, Battle Front 2 would be a much better choice, it lasts longer and you can play it with your friends all day long.

Re: Star Wars Games

How does it last longer? If you do all the missions in KOTOR you would have over 30 hours and if it is your first time probably 40 hours. KOTOR II was pretty bad but it was a KOTOR nonetheless so it was still good in terms of gameplay. You might not be able to play against your friends but, I would rather have a great story (KOTOR) rather than multiplayer. That is just me of course.

Re: Star Wars Games

I've got Battlefront 1 and that's dead good, I thought Battlefront 2 wasn't out yet though! I prefer Star Wars games set in the OLd Republic rather than after.

Re: Star Wars Games

In my opinion Star Wars III : Jedi Academy is the best game of the whole SW game series. Kotor II is good too.

Sincerly yours,

Re: Star Wars Games

Wow, Jedi Academy is one of the worst games I have ever played. The controls stink, the plot stinks, and the force powers stink, every thing about it stinks. It is like one giant odor.

KOTOR came out around the same time and is ten times better than academy. You also get a better plot, controls, graphics, and more play time. Academy is only good online and even then it isn't that good. I traded academy for an old xbox controller and it was one of the best trades I have ever made, sucks for the guy I traded it to though.

Re: Star Wars Games

I recommend KOTOR 1 and 2, they are some of the greatest SW games out there. But if you're looking for a quick and fun game, go for Battlefront 2 when it's released. Jedi Academy and Jedi Outcast are good too.

Re: Star Wars Games

The Revenge of the Sith game is horrible. ...Well okay. It's not bad. But it's very average. It's just a button basher.

I've got to be the only person who loved KOTOR II more then the first. It's got to be the darkest Star Wars game. Ever. Sure, it was full of glitches but it didn't ruin the fun (gameplay was indentical to the laast one, only with improvements).

Republic Commando is awesome. But too short. Fun while it lasts though.

Jedi Knight II and Jedi Academy on the PC are cracking (Not too sure on Console versions, as the controls there are a bit dodgy). Honestly, who wants to pass up on the chance to grab a lightsaber and hack through Stormtroopers?

I'd highly recommend Rogue Leader on GameCube too. If you can find it.

But don't get Jedi Power Battles even if you do come across it. :-X

Re: Star Wars Games

Jedi Academy is very good, many force powers to choose from and you actually get to swing the lightsaber rather than push a button and let the game beat the enemy for you, KOTOR 1 was quite good but you still follow the same basic story line, KOTOR II makes you go in one specific direction and your choices never seem to make a difference no matter what you choose.

As for the multiplayer ones, Battle Front one or two, Jedi Academy or the older Jedi Outcast, Lego Star Wars, and Star Wars Revenge of the Sith has multiplayer as well. All of those are your best choices. Just don't buy KOTOR II whatever you do, the story is absoloute crap, and what is more important in an RPG than a story?

Re: Star Wars Games

I have three that I could recommend you with no questions in my mind for this current generation consoles. And they are:

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II
Lego Star Wars

These are the only really great Star Wars titles I've played on this current generation, though they're plenty of others I've haven't got to play yet. So, these are the ones I recommend.

I'll list all Star Wars games that have come out on GC then:

Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader
Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike
The Clone Wars
Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
Bounty Hunter
Lego Star Wars

And uhh, are you sure you don't want a Star Wars PC game?
