Metroid Prime 3

I personally am really excited about Metroid Prime 3 for Revolution. I've got Metroid Prime, which I've finished - and Metroid Prime 2 which I'm stuck on; nearly finished (just got the Light Suit). And I loved them both!

Retro Studios says this is an epic, enotional end to the trilogy. I hope Retro Studios will still make more games for Revolution, really big ones that match the standards of the Metroid Prime's. Is it confirmed that there making more games for Revolution, anyone? This is where you can discuss Metroid Prime 3 (only). Which I'm predicting will be an amazing game, that scores atleats over 95% with most gaming magazines and sites etc.

Post your' thoughts.

Arrow Metroid 3

I like the new look of Samus' ship... here's a little video I uploaded showing a simple trailer in the background.

Yeah I've seen that. It isn't actually footage from Metroid Prime 3, it ran on the GameCube. So Samus's ship may not look like that.

I've also thought up so new features that could be in MP3 (heh, mp3). You could actually have control of flying the ship, and there could be two planets to go on. Which you have to constantly fly between, and there loads of obstacles and events happening while you fly between them.

So its like Aether and Dark Aether on MP2, but instead the two planets are completely different, (much bigger space on a Rev. disc) and instead of using portals you fly there. I think that would be a great idea to put in the game. Plus a lot more beams, and maybe some more third person features - I imagine flying would be first person.

I like your two Planet idea. That would make the game's universe seem much more vase in size. As long as both planets are still huge, I mean...

Re: Metroid Prime 3

Having played through Metroid Prime not too long ago, I finally understand all the hype surrounding the series. It truly was an excellent game, an instant classic and quite possibly the greatest game released on the Gamecube to date. I have yet to play through Metroid Prime 2 just yet, seeing as I haven't had the chance to borrow it, but I'm following news regarding Metroid Prime 3 rather closely and very much look forward to it.

I have no real ideas or speculations regarding the game, such thoughts rarely cross my mind when I anticipate the release of the next game in a series. All I hope is that it's just as fantastic an experience as the first.

My opinion is that Metroid Prime 2 isn't quite as good as Metroid Prime. The environments aren't as good, but its still very polished. The graphics are even better, if that could be possible! And fighting Dark Samus (although a bit too easy) is very enjoyable. Phendrena Drifts ism my favourite place on Metroid Prime, and Hive fortress (or something) is my favourite on MP2. Its a brilliant place. I haven't quite finsihed MP2, but I've heard the ending isn't very satisfying. But Metroud's Prime wasn't either.

And I agree on Metroid Prime being the best game released on GameCube, I think its one of the best game's released in this generation of consoles. Twilight Princess maybe first, if so - Metroid Prime will definately be second. Final Fantasy X was a great game by the looks of it, but I enjoyed Metroid Prime an awful lot. One of the down-points about MP2 is that, its quite annoying switching between Aether and Dark Aether, and I would have prefered extra stuff in Aether then Dark Aether, but thats only a down-point when you compare it to Metroid Prime. Also, there isn't as much Space Pirate action going on. Not quite as epic feeling and dramatic, a bit more un-eventful. Lets just say Tallon IV is a bit more interesting then Aether.

Re: Metroid Prime 3

I would say thet MP2 was slightly better than MP1, for example, MP2 has multiplayer and because the beams on MP1 had no ammo, you always relied on the plasma beam, but Mp2 forces you to use your beams wisely, etc. Also the bosses are betteron MP2, at the moment I am trying to beat the last boss, really hard though. I think MP3 should have flying the spaceship, did you get that idea from my old Metroid Prime 3 thread, have a look if you want, people contributed some great ideas, from space battles, melee attack with weapon, new powerups, beam, etc. Just don't repeat stuff from my old thread though...

No I thought up the idea myself, I didn't know you already had a thread on it, I did search for any others before posting this one.

EDIT:
But looking at your thread now, your's is months and months old. It was time for a new one, so it doesn't matter if I copy stuff from your thread, not that I'm going to anyway.

MP3 Control

I think MP3 should really utilize the Revolution's unique control scheme. You could aim the controller at an enemy, press on of the four buttons, and blast your target with one of an assortment of weapons (Samus could wield a Plasma Sword by holding a certain button)

Why use a Plasma Sword when you can use a Plasma Beam? Because its cooler, right? The point I'm trying to make is that a melee weapon is useless to Samus as far as combat goes, would be cumbersome to use in first person, and doesn't offer any possibilities exploration wise.

I have come come up with what I believe to be a ver good MP3 control scheme using the Revolution controller, but because it is so extensive, I'm not going to write it down right now.

Re: Metroid Prime 3

I love Metroid, it is my second favorite game series besides Zelda. Both Primes games were excellent in my opinion. I'm currently on the second to last boss on MP2. The Hive King or whatever hes called, after which is the final stage of Dark Samus. I cant wait for MP3 and the Revolution to come out. From what I've heard, its going to be the best Metroid game ever.

What have you heard? I follow these things pretty closely, and there hasn't been any real information. Besides, if I told you I was going to design the best game ever, would you believe me? It is not up to the developer or spokesperson to rate their own game. That job lies with the fans.

Although, J. Allard from Microsoft apparently doesn't view things this way, since he has deemed his (his company's to be specific) own product, Halo 2, "The best game ever"! Yeah, I've brought this up more than once, but I just can't get over what an ignorant, arrogant, and dumb thing to say it was.
