First and Foremost:
THIS IS NOT REAL. THE MOVIE IS A FAKE.

with that out of the way... If you haven't seen the movie yet it's at www.nintendoon.com and is about 6 min long.

Basicly, this thing allows you a virtual reality dealio to go with the revolution. I was only bringing up certian points to discuss. First, this movie is very well made, and certian qualities of movie look like that of the controller movie, and previous Nintendo videos. second, could this movie be a marketing ploy by nintendo do find out how well something like this would go over in the gaming industry?

This is actually a fan-made video that was posted up on gametrailers.com awhile back. It is very interesting, but definetly not something that Nintendo made.

i thank you for the tautology, but right now i'm asking what people think, such as, Would/Could/Should Nintendo make something like this? And if it were made would a general market see it as a decent investment?

what was that Revolution 510,000,000 thing?

I'm pretty sure that the 510,000,000 thing was saying... "Look, this is what the n64 (or DS) can do, 1 Mario castle. And THIS is what Revolution does! Wooo!"

Kinda like a comparison thing... so peeps get get the scope of the new system's power and whatnot.

Definately a cool video, worth a look at... especially if it was mainly done by one dude. Although, Mario in the video did seem awefully disproportionate. I still watch the thing every now and then, it was done really well. It even peaked Reggies interest, and in some interview he told the guy to give Nintendo a call. Special.

Realistically, something like that wouldn't be coming out for yeeears if it were a real design. All the technology the "Nintendo ON" supposedly packs would cost an arm and a leg... and possibly some organs. I also have no concept of how safe this thing would be. I mean, walk forward and your character moves forward. But people are in a constricted space. For sure one must be prepared to knock themselves out on something... possibly that makes you lose a life??

I'd like to see the system that could actually render 510,000,000 mario castles in real time. I think that's a long ways off.

Yeah, it's a cool video, but it's really old. It was released back during E3. >_>

The Mario Castles don't have to have a large polycount anyway.

i saw that video quite a while ago, its cool... but what if you crashed into a wall?

ya, lets say, you were playing zelda and: "Ive got to go get that chest!" And when you run towards it you crash into the wall.

I like the music in the background. Does anybody for some weird reason know what it is?
