Thoughts on Sonic Adventure
Well, I've recently finished Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, (dont think I'll ever get 180 emblems, all A rank is insane [gots 140 though!]) but one problem with 2 Battle was that it lacked many Sonic stages. So I'm wondering about Sonic Adventure DX. Is it a good game? How many levels are there? Missions? How good are the graphics in-game and does the frame-rate bother you when you play? Lastly, what is wrong with the dialogue in SADX? The way Sonic's mouth moves in cutscenes looks terrible, but is it able to get by? And lastly is it worth buying for $20?

Re: Thoughts on Sonic Adventure
I disliked Sonic Adventure, and I disliked Sonic Adventure 2. They did a very bad job of translating the speed and platforming goodness of the 2D Sonics to 3D, and without that, Sonic is nothing.
Never played Sonic Heroes.

Re: Thoughts on Sonic Adventure
It's more confusing, exspecially the chaos, who are impossible to work with. SAB2 was alot funner for me. The levels are alot different too. Each of the characters has one kind of level, and all the levels of one type seem the same.
Sonic- Real levels Tails- Race Sonic Big- Fish for froggy (impossible) Robot- Timed missions where you shoot dolls Amy- Run from an evil robot Knuckles- Treasure hunt All the level seem exactly the same. In Ice Cap, the map is almost identical for most of the characters. It got kind of repetative. It also has some unlockable minigames, and racing. However, there are 3 main sections and sometimes they will lock you off from certain areas and you can't reach your chaos, which really annoys me.

Re: Thoughts on Sonic Adventure
I'd say it's worth renting, a little EH for $20... It was cool when GCN just came out. Other than that, you'd better stick with games that are actually good.

Re: Thoughts on Sonic Adventure
If I remember correctly, there were ten Sonic stages, and the other four characters had five stages each. That totals thirty stages (though, as mentioned, quite a few of them were repeats of each other- nearly all (or maybe it was all) of Tails' stages were shortened versions of Sonic's.) Each stage had three goals- the main goal, and then two extra goals. Sonic Adventure DX for GCN added a Missions "sub-game" of sorts, but I find it more frustrating than fun (good luck finding the mission cards, my friend.)
In terms of graphics, SA2 looks tons better. The characters in SADX look like plastic figurines in my opinion. I didn't enjoy running around the "Overworld" that much, especially when I wasn't sure where to go next. I will also point out that Big and Amy are frustrating to play. Amy's too slow (how is she chasing Sonic around when she only moves at half his speed?) and Big's fishing was time-consuming, frustrating, and difficult. (You have to find Froggy on top of fishing him out- the Ice Cap stage was awful, it took me fifteen minutes to find him.) Personally, I like SA2 ten times more than SADX. In fact, I'm actually trying to get the A ranks in SA2 (oh, yeah, SADX does not have ranks)- I only need to get twenty more emblems before completing the whole thing!!! ![]() |

Re: Thoughts on Sonic Adventure
I got Sonic Adventure way back when it came out for the Dreamcast. I have a soft spot for it, but it's far from perfect. It's an embarasment when compared to Mario's first 3D outing.
I bought SA2 for the Dreamcast too, but I never really liked it.
