September 13, 2005: ????
Hey people.
Don't be surprised if there is some Revolution info released tonight. It's nothing concrete or anything, but it seems as though all the Editors-in-Chief at AdvancedMediaNetwork are convinced that there's something big coming tonight (9/13). They were practically begging people to spread the word to other sites and I was happy to oblige. I'm in no way saying that I completely believe them, but remember, a handful of rumors end up being true. Today is an appropriate date--it's the 20th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. and the release date of the Micro. Big day indeed. However, if this turns out being fake, which it may very well be, I beg not to be flamed or anything of that nature. A quiet closing of this thread by a monitor would be the most appropriate action. Here's the link to the thread: http://forums.advancedmn.com/showthread.php?t=11606

Re: September 13, 2005
The links not working for me, is it working for you?
Anyway, thank you for the info. And its not your fault if its all fake, anyone who flames you would be an idiot. But is today (9/13/05) the day that Nintendo announced that they will be revealing new Rev. info? Because they did actually announce a pecific date. Is it today? I hope it is. Nintendo has kept us waiting long enough. I've put Twilight Princess completely out of my mind since the day it was delayed, I really need to start getting excited about new things again. Untill the release of Twilight Princess is near that is. |

I don't think the "..." after "showth" is supposed to be there.
Here's hoping on some new Revolution info.

Re: September 13, 2005
Okay, I changed it. The link should work now. Sorry 'bout that.
A couple of AMN's editors have even claimed that they were travelling to Japan for today because of the announcement. I'm not sure if they're being truthful or not, but they are basically tying their site's reputation to this possible revelation. And no, today is not the day of Iwata's keynote. That is Friday (Thursday night in the states). However, that speech could possibly be a confirmation of specs released today or tonight. Keep in mind, stuff often is released or leaked a few days before a big event. Also, keep in mind that Nintendo is quite fond of viral marketing. It would make sense for them to release tidbits of info to a select few gaming sites to create extensive buzz. I should have given this a more interesting sounding subject. Well, nothing has surfaced yet, but the editors at AMN said that it will be released at night in the U.S. I guess we'll see. EDIT: One of their editors just left the following message: Some information should start coming around 5 PM PST this afternoon. For me, that's 8 PM EST. I hope this is true.

Re: September 13, 2005
This is awsome. I thought that the info wasn't being released till the 17th. I HAVE A REASON TO LIVE!!!!!
![]() and if we don't get the info we want, I will kill myself into a bloody pulp. If we don't get any info, it'll just be typical nintendo. Like always, making those unkeepable promises, being secretive and all that stuff.

Re: September 13, 2005
I just hope this ends up true. It would be nice to get abit of Revolution information and maybe even a demo video of Super Mario Revo. It woulds be a good move by Nintendo to go ahead and start to hype on the new system now, since we pretty much know nothing.

2 1 Rumor mongering. September 13th, 2005. Honestly, it's like we need to go through this every month with Nintendo rumors. Someone takes some incredibly vague comment by some random nobody (no offense, I just meana you nobody compared to KRUSTY!) and turns it into some impossibly vague rumor about something happening at some random time in some anonymous place. It's the same sort of BS that almost had me turn my back on online Nintendo communities entirely during "megaton." Related to that, Spong is as wrong as often as they're right. They've indiscriminately fed off rumors and false anonymous sources in the past. Not saying they're wrong. Just saying that a million monkeys with a million canvases aren't a newsworthy source for the Revolution's controller either. ![]() |

Re: September 13, 2005
Okay, AMN has posted this apology:
Dear readers, Nintendo Revolution news is coming and we are as excited as you are! We currently have two AMN staff representatives in Japan eagerly awaiting the show as you have been eagerly waiting for new Revolution information to surface today. And of course there is a problem... The wonderful AMN viewers, new and old, have done such an amazing job of spreading this "Tuesday-ton" announcement that the hype has reached numerous places, one of which was Nintendo. As some of you were expecting everything Revolution - the works - we were only planning to release a bit of information regarding a few surprises Nintendo plans to unveil later this week. Getting back to the point, Nintendo rightfully put the lid on any such announcements we had planned and told us to wait until later in the week, until their announced keynote speech and first day of the Tokyo Game Show. Of course we will be on our toes to report everything and anything we can -- as soon as we can, but in the meantime, we are forced to follow the rules, as every other media outlet must do. Obviously the whole situation got hyped out of proportion, as we didn't have intentions to blow the lid on everything we got our ears and eyes on...only a teaser of what we know and of things to come, but apparently it was a little too much. Forum go-ers and Nintendo enthusiasts hyped up what was to be a light-hearted introduction of Revolution news with more information to come later in the week. Suppose there is a lesson to be learned from this, but who can blame us, being fans of Nintendo, we are as excited as the next person! We are overwhelmed of the positive and negative responses we received. Joyed that we were able to create such a following, but disappointed that we are not able to share the information that we do have with all of you. We apologize for that. Of course, it isn't the end of the world. New Revolution news is right around the corner and you can rest assure that we'll be one of the first to share the excellent news. We will be attending Mr. Iwata's keynote speech along with Microsoft's and Sony's, as well as all three days of the Tokyo Game Show. Expect the Revolution good-ness to hit a little on Thursday and a little more on Friday. We'll post sooner if we can. We are as excited as you are! Stay tuned for further announcements as you won't be disappointed! We know were not! The MegaTon will always live on... I told one of the administrators that even if this was the fault of only one or two staff members, the whole site will get flack for it. And it's true. And to a certain extent, they deserve it.
