is halo 2 over rated

this has been bugging me for sometime now . But is Halo 2 over rated . because i think it is and i just want to know if it is to you . My opioin is it is . Its the same old thing blasting things . Whats your opioin remeber its ok to erpress your own feeling about it

You officially win the coolest (or at least the most logical) newb ever award. The original Halo was okay, but Halo 2 was too competitve in trying to beat Half-Life 2, and just failed horribly at having it even compare to Valve's masterpiece.

It's overrated, but I still like the online mode. Everything else is dull.

halo is cool, but yes, it is overrated. i mean when you think about it, how many other FPS (first person shooters) are there when you have to kill "alien" things and do mission objectives. in my opinion, i'd rather have a FPS where you can go anywhere you want (like metroid prime), and not have to stay in certain levels until you complete the objectives.

I do think that Halo is vastly overrated, but only because it's rated so high. The hype for that game was out of control. No way it could've met it such insane expectations. Of course, I don't feel bad in any way for Bungie or Microsoft, because they were the ones that created such hype. The gameplay of Halo 2 is almost identical to it's 3 year prequel. Nothing much was expanded. And the weapons in Halo 2 didn't match up.

Would I buy Halo if it were a Gamecube game? Yes. Would it be a game I cherish and consistently praise? No. It is very overrated. Only the online mode (which is admittedly very fun) separates it in any way.

Halo 2 is over rated but still a great game and Live in the big shadow of Halo 1 the offline on Halo 2 was to short in my opinion and the ending was based around makin money for the 360 and Halo 3 instead of the fans another of M$ marketing tactics

The online i played on Xbox Live for around 6months so i cant complain it was good while it lasted but became full of people cheating there way threw the system in order to become higher ranked.

Halo 1 Had a Great single player and wasnt over rated.

Halo 2 Had a Poor single player but a Good Online Mode and was over rated.

I think it's a great game, but it shouldn't have gotten all those perfect scores. So yes it's over rated.

In a way it is overrated, but it's still a good game. I find the single-player campaign to be a very dull mode of gameplay, and far weaker than other FPS games. The multiplayer though is indeed awesome, the best I've seen yet.

Though yea, a game that could be beat in 8 hours deserved not even half the hype it received...

Halo 2 is like Halo 1 version 2.0. It changes no gameplay, there's not a drastic change in plot, the way you see things and control your character hasn't changed, and it's just downright boring. It's like they took Halo 1 and made better graphics and altered the weapons and vehicles. That's all fine and dandy, but there was no change in how you play the game, or what you do. I just thought the campaign mode was horribly boring.

But, it has one of the greatest multiplayers ever. The online is sheer genius, I played that thing for hours on end. And playing with friends is loads of fun as well. So yeah, halo 2's a little overrated, I think Microsoft and Bungie should have not announced a release date until they were sure of it, otherwise they wouldn't have to delay everything and they'd have time to make a better game.

Yea Official Xbox Magazine gave it 10/10 when you se game like Return to Castle Wolfenstien gettin 9.4 there really is somthing wrong with that. I was shocked at what it got i thought it was worth around a 9.1 myself.

Halo is ok but I don't play it alot. I don't have Xbox.

The second I played Halo 2, I was excited. After the last level, I was greatly dissapointed. It still needed some work. For example: what's with all those visual pop ups. Often times when my friends and I are playing, the layers of detail shift. I don't know if this is a glitch but, I was playing with my friend and he threw a plasma and it was red. That was wierd. Does any one know why it happend? So, though overrated, Halo 2 is still fun with friends and online.

Halo 2 is a great game. I'm not much of an xbox girl, but it is one of the few xbox games that I like. However, I will have to say that I do think that it is overrated. I bought the game after hearing so many wonderful and "it's-damned-close-to-perfection" comments. I played it and it was pretty good- but not as great as I had hoped it to be. Considering the fuss people made about this game and the ample amount of attention that it recieved, I would say that Halo 2 is overrated. A fantastic game, but overrated nonetheless.
