Indigo Prophecy (Farenheit for the Euros)
Has anybody seen this?
It's a game where you've gone into a trance and killed a man in some sort of ritualistic manner, and then you have to run from police and find out what's going on (all while being the police, as well). It seems to be a pretty cool game. It has mental health instead of little hearts (yeah, it's been done, but it's different here), gameplay (in certain parts) that seems to resemble the Resident Evil 4 action sequences, and a choose your own adventure type plot that just seems quite interesting. Anyway, it looks pretty cool, and I want to get it. Discuss. (and yeah, I did find this through Penny-Arcade) ::EDIT:: Holy craps! I just found an article about it from the July 2004 issue of Game Informer (I thought I had heard about a Farenheit game somewhere, so I looked it up). It has a picture of the female character in her underpants talking to her partner on the phone. The Article reads: What do you do when some unkown dark force coerces you into killing a stranger in a New York bathroom? Good question. Sierra's Fahrenheit aims to let you find out through its player-dependent, twisting storyline. Not only will you discover what's behind the seemingly random murders from the perpetrator's point of view, but you'll also work to uncover the truth as three other characters, both hunter and hunted. Stay with us between now and Fahrenheit's winter launch for more details. Well, sure has been a while for winter....

Hmm, is it for X-Box? I wouldn't know because I was too lazy to check the link. Well if it is, be prepared for another cliched first person shooter that tries to copy Halo.
Otherwise it looks like it has some potential. Not completely sure though.

Re: Indigo Prophecy (Farenheit for the Euros)
Did you...did you even read anything up there?
Yeah, it'll be on X-box, but it'll also be on PS2 and PC. No, it's not an fps, and I don't even begin to understand why you think that any game released on the X-box is going to be an fps. Seriously dude, look more in to stuff before you even begin to think about posting. Anyway, the gameplay (not the action sequences) is something of a point and click adventure, except you don't point....or click......Bad example, but that's just the vibe it gives. It's basically a run around and interact with the environment type of style, like the point and click, but in this you move around like normal, and use joystick twirls to interact with stuff. Sound weird, but it's pretty cool. I suggest getting the demo and playing it.

Re: Indigo Prophecy (Farenheit for the Euros)
Indigo Prophecy? What a lousy name. Fahrenheit sounds much better.
Anyway. Yep, I've heard of this game. I was pretty skeptical at first, but I changed my mind pretty soon. I'd definitely buy it if my PC wasn't too slow for games released within the last five years, or if I had one of those consoles. This looks unlike anything I've ever seen. I like gimmicks and quirky ideas, and this game has tons of them. I've heard some bad stuff about the controls, though. This looks like one of the greatest games this year, but I'm pretty sure nobody will buy it. Damn casual gamers with their FPS obsessions...

Wait, it looks like an RE4 type game except not as good. Microsoft didn't like the fact RE4 wasn't being ported to their system, just Gamecube and PS2, so they decided to allow development for this game. Well, we'll just have to wait and see.

Re: Indigo Prophecy (Farenheit for the Euros)
Dude, it's coming out for PS2 along with X-box. Seriously man, drop the whole nefarious Microsoft thing.
Also, the game only has one element similar to Resident Evil 4, which is the action sequences, and as the story is based on what decisions you make, you can kind of expect this to not be the main style of playing. So to compare the two is just silly. Finally, you can find out what the game is about/like by actually reading the site, where it says story, or by downloading the demo which will actually let you play it. Anyway, to Gezmok, I agree. It's probably gonna be overlooked for various reasons, but at least there'll be one more original game on the shelf. Sucks that you don't have the systems, though.

Re: Indigo Prophecy (Farenheit for the Euros)
I'm sure Adam will want this game, he's a grade A psycho. The guy stuck kittens in a freezer at four. (That.. wasn't a joke.. : \ )
But then again our whole family is screwy, I inherited mom's side though, which is full of maniac liberals, Vodo preists, and a definite case of Batman level of paranoia.. If I play this game I'll just shoot stuff, don't care who or why they did it, just know they gotta' die. I'll get some sortof bounty, people will celebrate, I might get some, everybody wins. |

I guess it looks like an interesting game, but I don't think it will be anywhere near RE4 calibur. ... And it still is coming out for X-Box.
