Exclamation Sonic next/Sonic 360 interview thing

http://games.kikizo.com/news/200509/019.asp]New Interview
Quote:
So, Yu Suzuki finally returns with a promising new arcade title, legendary AM2 franchises are back, Shenmue is still alive, Nagoshi is exploring an untapped side of his creativity, and now Sonic is set to return in a big way. It seems about the right time to point out "we told you so" when we said that the game was far from over for Sega fans.
It says that the game will reflect deeply on the demo we saw at E3 and to excpet to see screens, movies and more on September 9th. We should expect to see new screens and a trailer soon. Also for those who don't have it, I give you: The first originally leaked trailer
It looks like Sonic's shaping up from Sonic Heroes. If this is real gameplay, then Sonic 360 (We'll call it that until we get a name) will be faster, more action packed and all around better than any Sonic game we've seen before. I also noticed Sonic has 1 new attack and MAYBE the return of peel out. When Sonic was running, rather then him just speeding up a bit, he sped up tremendusly (SP?) and everything blured. Sonic's new attack is some kind of rainbow homing attack that destroys everything. Looks cool, but it might take away from the speed of the game. I like the new robots, better then the wussy Egg-bots from Sonic Heroes. And gasp! They fire ACTUAL machine gun turrets! :O

Umm that trailer (although they say gameplay footage) are probably rendered footage because there are two many camera angles and the frame rate is too consistent to be in game video. Overall though, I hope to see some new Sonic games with those innovative ideas added in the next rev consoles.

I've already seen that. Sheik84 posted that in July... But it was cool and it's not just for XBox 360.
And Dark Link, your probably right. Sonic looked very weird...

Sounds like an interesting concept. We'll just have to wait and see.

Re: Sonic next/Sonic 360 interview thing

I'm watching this one with interest. It had better show up on Revolution. Furthermore, Revolution had better be capable of this quality of visuals. This is one of the first next generation games that actually looks fun. I actually want to play it, as opposed to everything else I've seen so far. Look at the huge environment in that last screenshot! I hope we see something of that calibur for the Mario and Zelda franchises. I also hope that Mario can evolve into something even better than this. The old Mario games were so brilliant. Go back and play Super Mario World to know what I mean. When I was younger, I didn't appreciate a lot of the intricate details in that game, but now I understand it's greatness. The amount of criticism that the Mario franchise receives is starting to piss me off. I'm sick of Nintendo fans who will only play Zelda. I'd go as far to say that Mario is a better franchise than Zelda, but only in certain ways. In all out fun factor, I don't think you can beat SMB3, SMW, or Yoshi's Island. Of course, these days, everything has to be epic and have a big plot twist, and Mario hasn't adapted to these silly standards. While neither matched the quality of their N64 predecessors, I'd take Super Mario Sunshine (fruity name and all) as a better sequel to Mario 64 than Wind Waker to OoT/MM.

Anyway, back on topic, I've never been a huge Sonic fan. But if this game finds itself on Revolution, I'll check it out. It is one of the few games that I see so far that has not only improved graphics, but gameplay (not necessarily improved--that has yet to be seen) that isn't possible on current systems.

Wow Shiek 84, those graphics look amazing.

As all of the next gen gaming console graphics do, of course. It's really good for a multi-platform game. As for the Revolution and it's capabilities, I don't think you will have anything to worry about. I am almost certain the rev will be able to take it.

If they can't take it right off the next gen bat then big N is in trouble.

Ya, I think it'll take it...

It better, Gamecube, although was more advanced than the PS2, still was way behind the X-Box. And it didn't really matter either because PS2 was more popular.

Re: Sonic next/Sonic 360 interview thing

It is great to see Sonic getting back on track, especially with the Sonic Heroes/Shadow the Hedgehog detour. I am quite certain that this game will be on the Revolution due to the fact that anyone who read the Hog-Haven edition of Nintendo Power knows how close Nintendo and Sega have become.
When it is released, I'll be in line waiting to pick it up, that's for sure.

Re: Sonic next/Sonic 360 interview thing

Sonic the Hedgehog

First look
Reinvention article
It's just a high rez version of the E3 demo, but it's cool. The name was announced as Sonic the Hedgehog, in attempt to revive the series from the grave Sonic Team dug Sonic. I hope that Sonic Team doesn't take out all the other characters besides Sonic and Eggman. They don't have to be playable, but make them part of the story line. A good idea would to have a partner system like Shadow, were in important parts of the game other characters can help you in battles. I hope this does good, it looks like Sega turned down the shine a bit.
