Talking Game Makers

Most people will know of at least one game maker. A few people will have them, and some will have made games with them. What I want to hear is the game makers you have used, your favourite game maker, what games you've made, and, if you have made games, provide links to them. I have made a couple of games with game maker 6. The links are in my signiature.
Also, if you want, tell us all about the games you made!

Re: Game Makers

I downloaded that program, didn't know what the heck I was doing, and uninstalled it instantly. It's a great program, don't get me wrong, it just wasn't for me.

Re: Game Makers

when you use programs such as game maker or mfc or anything then you are adding a lot of code into your final aplication that you will ever need. My advice is to get a book on c++ and direct x (8.0 and up). using directx in developers studio (and bipassing all the windows crap that screws up games) you can make some great games that are compact and dynamic. Things like game maker may help you make 2d layered sprites but it takes away a lot of functionality and hardware acceleration that you would normally have if you made it with the thinnest possible hal.

well, you took down the links, now noone can view your games.

I have gamemaker, and it is very complicated, I don't know what the F*** I'm doing. I just replace sprites in current games to suit my tastes as of yet. (link as pac-man and ganon as gohsts anyone?)

Re: Game Makers

I use GameMaker (registered 6.1)

Anyway, it is a little complicated when you first use it, but once you get used to it, it becomes very easy. As of right now, the only game I have made with it is Sonic Ze, and I am currently making Zelda: Melancholy of Lands and Sonic Ze: Robotnik Revenge.

Oh. Sorry 'bout that. I forgot about this thread.

Sparkle Paint
Micro Man

I downloaded that game you started wwww9898 and it is very good. You should try to carry on with it, try to remake all the code, because I think it is very good so far. I just want to say, if you do carry on with it, add jumping, and give the player more health.

Re: Game Makers

Oh and by the way, the only game maker programs worth getting are the ones for PC. Don't bother with the RPG maker for PS2. That absolutely sucks.
