Most Anticipated Titles for remainder of 2005
What are you most looking forward to playing this fall and winter of 2005? There's a crapload of games coming out now, for all systems, and ones like Gamecube are getting a swarm of big-name franchise titles. For any system, what do you want to play the most?
For me, it's mostly Gamecube, as I don't plan to buy DS or anything else yet Battallion Wars- Looks like a lot of fun. My brother's supposed to buy it, so I'll be playing it for sure. I loved games like Army Men and the extra missions in Conker's Bad Fur Day, so I can't wait for this one. Mario Baseball- I know it's out, but I certainly haven't gotten it yet I played it at Media Play one night and I had a blast. I'm usually not big on Baseball titles at all, but the Mario characters and overall atmosphere made me like itGeist- Haven't played a good FPS in a while, and from what I hear it's pretty damn fun, especially the possessing part. Heh heh, I'd love to do that in real life... WWE Day of Reckoning 2- The first was amazing, and I hear this ones better, so being a huge WWE fan, I must try it out. I've always liked the recent games put out, even the Smackdown and Smackdown vs. Raw titles for PS2, but this is supposed to be even better than those Pokemon XD- What can I say? I like Pokemon still, I enjoy sitting down and playing the old Gameboy titles once in a while. It's just a very fun series, and I always liked the idea of having monster companions with you to fight other enemies. Since I was like, 9, I always wanted a 3-D adventure for one of the big-name consoles, and when I found out about this I was so happy. I am so hyped for this one Mario Soccer- I don't know, I kinda like soccer as a game itself, and playing it in a game that's kinda like a parody of it has always been fun for me *the soccer games on Monkey Ball 2 and Mario Party 5 were great, and I liked Sega Soccer Slam* Plus being that it's Mario characters, and since Mario is my favorite video game series *and I love all of the parody games* I think this'll be a really enjoyable game for me Fire Emblem Path of Radiance- With Twilight Princess being delayed to 2006, this is my biggest game for the year. I was already extremley excited in the first place, but now that I know I can buy it for sure *since Twilight Princess is bye-bye for a while* I simply can't wait to play it. The graphics are stunning, and the cinema scenes are just great. The strategy elements seem to be very well done, like a perfect mix of RTS and RPG. |

Re: Most Anticipated Titles for remainder of 2005
There really hasn't been alot that's sparked my interest in games this year. I mean, Twilight Princess has always been there, but delay after delay.. I've had my 5 bucks on that for almost a year now.
But yeah, as for the rest of the year, there isn't much.. but I'll give my two cents on what is. Dragon Quest VIII ~ Finally.. the petty arguments of calling it Dragon Warrior is over. From all that I've seen, this is looking to be one of the great RPG's Sony pulls out of their sleeve this year. That and the fact that the US finally can get thier hands on that Slimy controller. >> Shadow of the Collosus ~ Now this game has been talked about for awhile and changing names in the process, but what they've got so far looks phenominal. Just the point of climbing around these insanely huge bosses was what caught my attention. I'm still waiting till the demos come in to get an actually feel for it, but I know this one's going to be good. Battalllion Wars ~ Basically Advance Wars on the Cube.. what could be better than that. |

Re: Most Anticipated Titles for remainder of 2005
I'm waiting for Mario Striker. It's time for me to get a sports game instead of action, action, fps, adventure, and so on. From the looks of the demo videos and the screenshots, I must say, it has captured my interest by quite a bit. Can't wait until it's out around November of 2005.

Re: Most Anticipated Titles for remainder of 2005
I'm looking foward to...Mario Kart DS, Sonic Rush, Metroid Prime Hunters, Prince of Persia 3 and Ratchet: Deadlocked.
Even without TP, 2005 still has a lot of games to look forward to. I'm looking forward to Radiata Stories as well, but I'm not postive when it's out in Europe.

Re: Most Anticipated Titles for remainder of 2005
I have afew titles I'm looking forward to:
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance: This one looks good. I've started to get into RPGs most, so this will be a great starter. Super Mario Strikers: This looks like the best Mario Sport title to date. Aside from nice graphics, the gameplay looks fun and easy to learn. Dragon Quest: I've always been a fan of Akira Toriyama's art, so this is a natural one for me. And Mario Kart DS of course. ![]()

Re: Most Anticipated Titles for remainder of 2005
Since Twilight Princess has been delayed to next year, I only have a few that I'm looking forward to
Ratchet: Deadlocked: What can I say. I love this little fuzzball (Lombax actually) and his mechanical partner, and I'm extremly excited about their upcoming title. Though their taking the came in a new direction (plays more like a 3rd Person Shooter now and darkening the tone), I'm sure it'll be a great game. Also, it now has co-op multiplayer and enhanced online features, which I'm excited about. Kingdom Hearts II: The first one was great, and I expect great things to come from the second one. Though it did have its flaws (questionable battle system, hard to select items durring battle, can't heal fast enough during battles) I'm still excited neverless. I hope they improve the games flaws and make it a memoriable gaming experience. That's really all I'm excited about this year. I'm sure there's a few other games I'm looking forward to, but I can't really think of them as of now. Anyway, I can't wait to the release of these games.

Re: Most Anticipated Titles for remainder of 2005
Tales of Legendia - It's kinda out already, but I still look forward to it. The import version. The US one, too, but that comes later. =P
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance - Fire Emblem ranks in my top-3 favorite RPG series of all time along with the Tales of series. It's Gamecube debut should be wonderful. Kingdom Hearts II - Looks so much better than the first, which was pretty good to begin with. The battle system looks much more dynamic, the story darker and more involved, and the cast characters more mature. Sora wears black, too. I can't get over how awesome his new outfit is. I guess that's it for things that I actually plan on buying. Lost in Blue looks like a lot of fun, but I'm not sure if I'll be picking up a DS any time soon. Once I've got my job going, it's Legendia, a decent guitar, a good MP3 player and then saving for college and that kind of stuff with a few purchases (the aforementioned) inbetween.

Re: Most Anticipated Titles for remainder of 2005
Fire Emblem Path of Radiance - I'm a huge sucker for strategy games. The concept of controlling your own army just feels so damn cool to me. I've played Fire Emblem 3 to 6(the ones that didn't make stateside) and I'm surprised that such a series hasn't made a transition to the 3-D console world yet. This should be really interesting. And everything looks great so far.
That's about it now. Then again, my interest of video games is kind of waning already. |

Re: Most Anticipated Titles for remainder of 2005
I can't believe noone said it, you all must be inhuman...
Shadow of the Collosus I got a demo of this game recently, and it is now officially my favorite game ever. Almost anyway, it falls a few inches short of OOT. And this is just of the demo... Basically, the main gimmick is that there are only fifteen enemies in this game, and they are all bosses. Giant 100-meter tall bosses. Each boss is a moving puzzle, you have to figure out where his weak poiints are, and a way to get there. For some bosses, you might have to stab their legs to make them fall over. This game is beautiful, I definately reccomend it to anyone with a PS2, it comes out later this year
