PS3 Games said to be $70-$80!?

Famitsu publisher president is saying that Playstation 3 games will likely be priced $70 to $80.

Of course, don't forget the PS3 itself is going to burn your wallet into tiny ashes.

Yes, but this is for Japan and you have to remember that Japan actually pretty much pays that amount for games this generation. So, don't be too concerned about a perceived price jump for the next generation:

I see. But what if this was for the worldwide market? Where games are on average $60-$70? I guess only time will tell.

just because it translates into that price does'nt mean it will be that price if you converted the price of a Japanese PSP into English money it would be not farr off 100 quid but Englands getting it for 180 quid

I guess that would be a fair price here. Well most people will be broke from getting a PS3 and million's of games. But it better be worth it!!

Ken Kutagari said himself that people who want are complaining about the PS3 prices should get two jobs...The prices are a bit outrageous but Sony wants to make the PS3 last 10 years.

I think if this is true *I'm sure it is*, then this is the deciding factor on me not getting PS3 now. The high-priced system itself is still bad for me, but I can handle that. But if I gotta pay over 150 bucks to play two games to start with, then that's just insane. I wanna get Revo anyways, and my pool table and more Gundam dvds and stuff. Hell I'll be spending enough buying the last few big-name titles for Gamecube in the next year

Well if they're deciding to sell the system for around 450 and they're still losing money, it makes sense that they'd jack up the prices on the games to try and make up a fraction of the loss.

Reason being why I wouldn't get PS3 on the day of launch.. I'm spending enough on the 360 anyway.

All the next gen systems are looking horrible. The PS3 will cost more than a a bike, and when you buy enough things, it'll probably cost more than a car. The Xbox 360 is good, but you have to buy the full version since their going to be making games that use the things that don't come with the core version of the Xbox. The Rev for all we know runs off of our blood. With these prices, most launch games will probably be out of the question for me, I'm not even going to get a system on it's launch date. Atleast the Rev will be cheap and it's easy to develop for...

I accidently hit the edit button, if you're wondering why it says I edited your post. (I still do that by mistake...)

But that would make it seem that Australians pay more currently for games than Americans do. Therefore, I would guess that the price of games in Australia would likewise be raised. If the price of games in North America goes up, you can be sure the price of games in Australia will too.
