Daniel Barras gets letter from producer of Spyro the Dragon about OOT 2D

I came across your website and just had to write.

The Zelda series is what made me search out how one could make games a career (As I am sure many of your colleagues have done) and I couldn't be more pleased to see the best in the series given such royal treatment on the GBA. What an excellent idea.

I'm writing to let you know that depending upon your needs now and in the future, I would love to lend a hand to the project. I am sure that my experience in addition to contacts might help keep the project moving forward towards that ever elusive finish-line - which I most eagerly await. I recently produced the Spyro The Dragon GBA series (amongst other things...) and would love to spend some free time helping a worthy cause.

Regardless - many thanks to all those involved in making such a wonderful project a reality. I think you are doing a stellar job.

Hmm, now what do you think about TRM's OOT in 2D, guys?

well i cant say i dont like it...it sounds pretty cool, unless it is side scrolling. i really didnt like the sidescrolling as much as the normal "overhead" view of Link. well it sounds like it could be really good

Spyro sucks. He'd ruin the project.

I liked the first Spyro, LOS. :-p

It seems as if this Ricci Rukavina character think that the OoT 2D is an official project sanctioned by Nintendo and is coming to GBA.

Or maybe they're simply a Zelda fan interested in furthering a Zelda fanproject on an independent basis.

Although personally, I wouldn't have included mention of my employer in this case, heh, part for liability, and in part given Vivendi's past litigation-happy attitude to content contribution....

As for Spyro, the PSX games were very decent given the other adventure games available when the franchise first appeared. I wouldn't be surprised if the GBA port was less fun, though.

If he is talking about OoT in 2D, then this more or less confirms that Ricci Rukavina assumes the game is set to appear on the GBA.

Doh, I suppose that's true, heh. I suppose Ricci's sanity (and my own eyes) can thus be called into question.

It doesn't seem too much like he thinks it wil defenitly be n the
GBA. it seems more like he thinks that it could be if the right people found out. The way he says 'cause' and voulunteering his 'free time' he doesn't seem to think that there will be a profit coming from it, unless he want to negoitiate the contract later.

Well, your forgetting.

It is not some kind of game that will be sold on shelves. It is a game, in, ROM format, being able to play on VisualBoy Advance. Then, with the right things, you can play it on GBA.

wow. I may not... y'know... /like/ the spyro series or anything (honestly can't say - only got a ps2 for xmas and have been too busy catching up on my lack of ff to buy anything else... :::whistlewhistle:::), but this guy (is it a guy?) is definately my god...

anyone in the business supporting the fandom like that is definately worthy of extreme praise in my books...

I’m sure that wasn’t his response. He simply said that he knew a company that could use Daniels skills.
If he didn’t believe that the game was for the GBA, then why would he mention that he was "pleased to see the best in the series given such royal treatment on the GBA" ?

He at first thought that, he then stated that he realized what it was.
