Feel free to remove or move this post.

easy, you just have to realize that Nintendo has had better profits than Sony and Microsoft (PS and Xbox) combined.

don't worry, they may not look it, but Nintendo is still on top

Re: What would happen if nintendo went out of business?

Even if Nintendo were to go out of business, Zelda's established and rather rabid fanbase makes it an absolute gold mine for other publishers. Even if the sale of the Zelda franchise weren't sold as part of a last minute bail-out by Nintendo, the franchise would probably be bought and hopefully given to a developer with the dedication and passion to do it justice.

I fit does go out of business, I hope that Nintendo will go 'Sega' on us, and still publish games for other consoles, so Link and co. can be kept alive, much like Sonic has been restored for the multi-format consoles!

Ok, I agree with Superdecimal, that if they do go out of business, they better 'sega' for us. Or I'll cry.

But I horribly doubt that Nintendo's going anywhere anytime soon. Even if they end up being in third place in sales for the new systems, that's still third place, they're still making enough money to thrive. They have ridiculous potential with the DS and the Revo's online service. Wait for the new system's to be released before you all start worrying.

Even if Nintendo drop out of the super-home console race - their handheld gaming market dominates over the competition immensly - Japan has sold almost twice the number of DS's than PSP's, and with figures in the UK, Europe and America rising all the time, and the fact that GBA has almost no competition whatsoever - I don't think Nintendo will ever pull out of the handheld market!

Why must Microsoft put it's nose where it doesn't belong? Ah well, I have faith that Nintendo can pull through any situation.

I really don't see Nintendo coming out of the video game industry. They're much too established to just go out of business. Enough said.

Re: What would happen if nintendo went out of business?

I don't this scenario coming for a while. Nintendo is an older company that has always been enduring. Look at Sega though anyway, it still hasn't fully collaped yet but rather has made a healthy career as a third party developer(third party, right?). Heck, it took decades for Attari to fully succumb into bankrupcty.

Re: What would happen if nintendo went out of business?

Nintendo won't be going nowhere not for a long time. The DS seems to be saleing rapidly and GC is making enough money. But if in the future they did go out of buisness I don't know what they'd do. I can never see zelda or any nintendo chracater on another console. We all know its gonna happen eventually nintendo going out of buisness (or is it?) .

Re: What would happen if nintendo went out of business?

No way, Nintendo is making massive bucks. Even with the PSP on the market... Nintendo is still pwning Handheld.

There consoles don't make as much money as Sony or Microsoft does... But I still think they make more than enough money. Look at all us hardcore Zelda fans... We buy Nintendo consoles with one idea in mind... Zelda.

Nintendo will go on for years...

Re: What would happen if nintendo went out of business?

What if they went out of business? Nothing will happen. Gamers will get over the loss of Nintendo and move onto another different system. It's just a game company. No need to end your life when it ended with bankruptcy or some other contracts with other bigger corporations in the future.

Re: What would happen if nintendo went out of business?

Nintendo's got such a base that it will be hard for it to be destroyed. Sega didnt just dissapaer all of the sudden they suffered long term money loss(Probably due to Nintendo). So it's not likely.

My guess is if Nintendo was to go bankrupt or whatever they would do what sony has done and developed for other systems.

Nintendo wouldn't simply go out of business, they would probably stop making consols and become a software developer like Sega.

I'll doubt Nintendo will go out of business. They have been around for 120 years(I am not lying). If they do drop out, all they do is just pull a Sega.

Nintendo will not die. Even my alterego agrees with me (and we don't usually agree on anything). Nintendo are not going anywhere anytime soon. End of story.

Well, maybe their opinion would change if the situation would ever arise, but a quote made by them makes the situation you suggest very unlikely:

"The day we leave the home console business is the day we leave the video game business"

Or, something to that effect . . .
