Stop Mario Campaign!

We all love Mario... he was the hero on the orignal arcade hit Donkey kong- even though he did not get called Mario until Donkey Kong 2....

He then made us love him even more when he go his own game (Mario Brothers)

On the Nes he got his own full series with the Super Mario Brothers 1,2 and 3 games. As time have gone on Nintendo has expanded the series with Super Mario Land and World. On the N64 he became 3-d. All during his reign he has been a big hit. Even in his sports games like Mario Tennis.

Now you are wondering what my point is.... so Mario is loved....
The point is, he has his own francise and a good one at that..... so.... why does Nintendo need to out him in every game they make?

Him or his other characters show up in many Zelda games (LA, OoT, MM)
He is also put into older boxing games as a referee. Recently his crew was turned into basketball players for the gamecube version of some baskeetball game. These are not the only instances, can u think of games that you have been playing. enjoying yourself.... and then all of a sudden WHAM!!!! Mario's evil face shows up in the background or on some item..... think about it....

I am tired of him showing up like this. As I said I like him in hid games, but I want him out of games that he should not be in. All u gamers who feel the same way, help me out.

Uh, while I have to admit he has been in a lot of game genres not that of his original genre, it really isn't that annoying. They're just little easter eggs, and new games. Honestly, I don't see what all the fuss is about, get over it. It's such a minor setback to games that it shouldn't even be considered a set back. You're taking this way too far.

Well, you have got to admit Lunar, he is in way too many games. It is kinda neat, but, it makes you mad after a while of it happening over and over again.

Actually Mario doesn't bother me either. I don't know why it would bother someone if he is in certain games, because it's not like he is in every game. Sure he is in a lot of games, but if you don't like it then ignore it or don't play it.

It doesn't bother me that Mario is in a lot of games. What do you expect of one of gamings most legendary characters?

No it doesn't. It actually gives the game a bit more of a nostalgia. Makes it more fun to play, in my opinion. Mario could be in every game ever made EVER and I wouldn't mind a bit. It isn't annoying at all, and I can't see how it would annoy anyone else. As long as the game is still creative and new, Mario can be in it all he wants.

I've seen people writing about how "Mario is in too many games" "Mario needs to stay out of Zelda", etc and I think it's ridiculous. If Nintendo wants to put a man wearing a red suit and hat in their games then more power to them. If you want a game without Mario in it, go play something else, like Halo or *gasp* program your own game! Sure, it's probably hard and extremely time consuming, but, hey, Mario isn't in it! So that makes it automatically awesome, right?

Nintendo is only good for one thing... Zelda. Everything eles is just well... boring and annoying.

I mean things like, Gamecube.. No online play, Cheapest specs. The PAL version with no S-Video... Rev... without HDTV.

Mario was pretty much the first official nintendo character and he was made by Miyamoto.

Mario party, those games are crammed down our throats every year. For once, Nintendo is doing a quanity, not quality thing. I used to love em', now they are my idea of Hell. Why don't we just play Monopoly? It's cheaper, and does not use electricity! Having some poor sucker land on your hotelled up paridise is a lot more satisfying then getting some wussy little star!

No seriously. Nintendo should make some new characters for us, not reuse the same old, same old like Mario.

I hope Nintendo will love my characters! I would be so happy if they went on Super Smash Brothers, even as trophies!

Crammed down our throats? I can't remember the last time I saw a Mario Party commercial or advertisement.

I don't think its getting out of hand. Its probably the default function of Mario as a mascot anyway. He's a versatile character that has the ability to distinguish himself into many genres. Who else can do it anyway? Can you imagine a Zelda Tennis(this was in a topic a while back)? But, then again, I don't think I liked the character in the first place, so mhm...

While Mario's appearance in games doesn't really annoy me, I do think it would be a good idea for Nintendo to start spreading the love around a little. Instead of another Mariokart, maybe they could try a new series?

I still like Mario, but he's getting a little stale, in my opinion. I want to see Nintendo try to push some new characters that weren't created in the 1980s.

well, since i cant cuss, i'll just say dlkjaflpao! im messin with ya! well, mario golf is pretty fun, it's a little more laid back than tiger woods pga 2005 or whatever the hell its called (hells not a cuss word, is it?)

mario tennis is a game i dont really like, i think it was made for those tennis junkies

mario ddr? this is pretty pointless!, why not just make regular ddr for the cube, but just add some nintendo songs?

as for ssb, mario has to be in that series, anyone who doesn't agree, can just get the hell out now! (just messing with you guys again)

super mario sunshine, super mario 64, and those type of games are ones you need mario in, you couldn't have "super mario" in the title, if it featured a guy from prison named tyrone!
